A m tion was made by Mr- Place, seconded by Mr. Louis, and unanimously
carried to .approve the above bills.
Mr, Sucher reported that our total budget balance for the year 1958 came to
$3,8210.76. This balance will remain in a reserve entitled "Redevelopment
Commission General Fund." However, the Commission does not have ac-
cess to these funds unless it is specifically appropriated by the Council.
Mr. elmen thought it would be proper to make a report to the Council
on the year's expenditures. Mr. Sucher stated that he will see that the
Council is advised accordingly.

view work and housing inspection, and would be available on a part -time

Miss Nowlin could interview the other 80% of the residents in the Sample
Street Area to determine their relocation needs. There are approximately
400 families involved in all, and we are 100% responsible for their reloca-
tion.
At present, the work of the Relocation Specialist would consist of inter-
viewing families whose residences are condemned by the Building Depart-
ment and working with realtors in their relocation, and later in fulfilling
our needs of relocation in the Sample Street Area. Any work pertaining
to the Sample Street Area will be reimbursed 2/3 by the Federal Govern-
ment
After a brief, but informative interview of Vernetta Nowlin, Mr. Koczan
advised her the Commission would notify her of its decision after the next
monthly meeting in February.
3. O®MTSiIING GIR DIIligiANCE
Attorney Fred Baer brought up the fact that some of the councilmen were
conce rned over some aspects of the proposed Housing Ordinance.
Mr. ucher had explained to the Council that the new Housing Ordinance
would make slum prevention efforts more effective, and also was needed
to m4qet federal requirements.
Mr. aer and Mr. Sucher thought the Commission could aid in this respect
by pa sing a resolution adoption of the ordinance.
Copies of the revised Housing Ordinance, (drawn up by Mr. Lane and
Mr Sucher, and patterned after other cities) will be distributed to the
Co mission members for their study before the next meeting, at which
tim it will be discussed further.
Mr Kohen offe.xed the cooperation of the Board of Trustees in efforts
to et the Ordinance .passed.
