L © ( 7 7 —( AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 6, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 6- 4.1(4) OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADJUST FIRE DEPARTMENT COMMERCIAL PLAN REVIEW FEES STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT The South Bend Municipal Code at Chapter 6, Article 1, Section 6- 4.1(4) presently requires a flat fee of $253.00 for the Fire Department Commercial Plan Review of any addition remodeling project. In the course of charging this fee, it has become apparent that a sliding scale fee based on the cost of a remodeling construction project under $58,001.00 is fairer and more equitable to property owners. Accordingly, the South Bend Municipal Code amendment contained in this Ordinance results in a substantial fee reduction, and is in the best interest of the citizens of South Bend. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA as follows: SECTION I. Chapter 6, Article 1, Section 6 -4.1 (4) of the South Bend Municipal Code be and hereby is amended to read as follows: 4) Fire Department Commercial Plan Review Fees: a.
