This controller model has the ability and capacity to add this additional load. Requested Features City of South Bend has requested a solution that will provide the coverage of wireless that will include the intersection of Lincoln Way & Cushing Street to the intersection of Lincoln Way and James Ct. This coverage shall provide access to pedestrians and outside of businesses that line both sides of Lincoln Way along this section of road. Coverage needs will pertain mostly to handheld personal phones and tablets. This will require the access points for the wireless coverage in addition to switching needs at the intersections where the access points will be mounted. These switches will provide connectivity to the extended Metronet single -mode fiber that will be extended down Lincoln Way. 10 Proposed Solution This solution provides the desired features City of South Bend has requested including: • High signal strength between each intersection along the path outlined in this request — this design will be accompanied with a predictive AP placement and signal coverage report • This coverage is being provided with a combination of Cisco 1560D access points that have directional antennas built in, along with Cisco 1560e access points with external omni-directional antennas. • The previously used switch model of Cisco ME3400 will be end -of -sale in Oct-2018. NSI has provided an equivalent switch model to the operational environment and feature set of the previously deployed MR3400. The switch model provided by NSI is the 2960CX series switch, which will allow for the same Layer-2 features the ME3400 has been used in, as well as provide POE at the switch without a need for a POE injector with the access point combination that is used in this design. The 2960X will provide up to 4 ports of 802.3at POE (30W per port) — this is sufficient to fully power the 1560D and 1560e model access points in this design. • Single -mode Long Haul SFPs (LC connectors) • Additional AP licenses as needed for operation on the controller Virtual Predictive AP Oacement disclaimer • an initial "predictive" access point placement design utilizes specialize software and is based on information discussed in kickoff conversations on coverage area needs, building/rack layouts, building materials, special interest areas, etc. Predictive surveys are not a 100% accurate representation of the live environment signal attenuation, which means that additional AP placement adjustments and quantities may need to be changed in the future. If the actual building materials or layout cause greater effect on the wireless signal coverage than expected it may be necessary for a change order for different or additional hardware, and possibly an onsite survey to adjust the final deployment. • Assumption 1— Martell Electric will be providing the services for the installation of the access points within this project. As they have provided this same service to the other outdoor wireless locations in previous projects, it will be up to Martell to provide necessary items for installation such as mounting poles/hardware for this project outside of any items listed in this design by NSI. • Assumption 2 - The designed access point placements are all accessible to the local cabinet that houses the switching location. Some signal poles are on different sides of the road from the network cabinet, and it is assumed that there is conduit paths that run between the cabinet and each signal light pole at an intersection. • Assumption 3 — A post -installation site survey of this deployment has not been included in this project. If this service is desired it will require a change order for additional services. • Assumption 4—The existing public Wi-Fi is operating on a 5508-wireless controller. The setup of these new access oints will be dependent on the network and controller migration to be completed. The access point licenses provided in this updated design have been provided to provide support on the new 5520 controller and not the older 5508 controller that is being phased out. Implementation - Scope of Work Network Solution Inc. views the successful completion of this project as a partnership between themselves and City of South Bend. The following section provides the scope of work each is responsible for throughout different phases of this project. PreparationPr Responsibilities; Network -Wide • NSI will conduct an internal kickoff meeting to review the purpose of the project, desired business outcomes, proposed design, statement of work, stakeholders, equipment, team member requirements, and base scheduling. • NSI will conduct an external kickoff meeting with CoSB to verify the purpose of the project, desired business outcomes, proposed design, statement of work, stakeholders, equipment ordered, equipment delivery timelines, and installation dates and timelines. NSI will provide a project plan outlining the expected steps needed to accomplish the installation successfully with minimum interruption. Switching • NSI will create the configuration scripts necessary to integrate the new switches into the DTSB Mertronet fiber network. These scripts will be based on the configuration of the existing ME3400 switches that are in operation • NSI will develop a preliminary testing plan that verifies normal operation of the installed networking equipment (i.e. CPU utilization, memory utilization, traffic flow, remote access) • NSI will provide the complete testing plan for CoSB to approve. • CoSB will approve or modify the recommended design as needed. This will include verification of the IP addresses used for management on the new switches to be installed. • CoSB will provide an expected window of time that changes can be made to the network including those identified as disruptive. • CoSB will provide a list of critical services that must be functional in order for testing to be considered successful. Wireless • NSI will provide a recommended design for the wireless system deployment. Items addressed in this design may include access point location and advanced wireless settings (data rate, bandwidth, and power). (NSI has created a predictive AP placement report for this design) • NSI will develop a preliminary testing plan that verifies normal operation of the installed networking equipment (i.e. access points online, radio settings, remote access) • NSI will review the available controller code versions and choose which version shall be recommended for the necessary code upgrade • CoSB will provide a list of SSIDs that should be available to users. This may be an existing SSID and AP group or a new one if necessary. • CoSB will approve or modify the recommended design as needed. • CoSB will provide an expected window of time that changes can be made to the network including those identified as disruptive. • CoSB will provide a list of critical services that must be functional in order for testing to be considered successful. rw Network -Wide www.nsil.com WHY we do is as important as W11AT we do (574) 271-0900 • NSI will conduct an Installation Review meeting and verify the Project Plan including network design, equipment delivery, installation times, and testing procedures. Switching • NSI will assemble the new equipment including installation of rackmount hardware, modules, and power supplies and install the device in the existing equipment racks. • NSI will physically install the new switching, SFPs, and fiber connections at the cabinets for the three intersection locations • NSI will configure the new switches according to the agreed upon design and cutover from the existing equipment. The new equipment will take over handling production traffic. • CoSB will provide access to the cabinets at the intersections where the switches are to be installed. • CoSB will assist with testing verification with the onsite engineer once the switches have been installed Wireless • NSI will apply new licenses and upgrade the controller software for the proper function and support of the new 1560 series access points. 801111 2f 11209 Agms regUirg r — this time. The software upgrade may not be necessary, but the controller will still need to be rebooted to support the newly added licenses. • NSI will create a new Public WiFi and AP group for these access points if necessary. If it is acceptable to use existing SSIDs or AP Groups for this deployment the access points will be configured to use those. • NSI will configure hostnames for each AP based upon their location. • NSI will verify that all new access points in this project are communicating with the controller, have updated their software to the current deployed version, and are stable for testing/operation • NSI will install and document the location of each access point by room number, name, and AP MAC address (3rd Party Contractor) These access Points are to be installed as close to the center of the intersections as safely and stable as possible. • NSI will provide lift access if required for high AP cabling or Installation (if applicable) (3rd Party Contractor) • CoSB will provide DHCP services for any new networks that are created. T ing Res ansi `li i Network -Wide • NSI and CoSB will test access to the critical services identified in the testing plan. Switching • NSI will verify proper operation of the installed equipment as identified in the testing plan. At the completion of testing all devices should be capable of passing traffic through their uplink port, being remotely managed, and have had a backup copy of their configuration taken. Wireless NSI will verify proper operation of the installed equipment as identified in the testing plan. NSI will adjust wireless signal settings to best provide coverage and service to wireless users. Access points may need to be relocated to achieve optimal coverage. NSI will determine if a change order is required for additional services associated with relocation of access points. Infrastructure Final Deliverables Following the completion of training and support, NSI and CoSB will review the work completed. General Responsibilities NSI has provided labor estimates in conjunction with the bill of materials and this scope of work. Any modifications to either document may require a change order that includes additional cost for added product or services. Listed below is a final set of defined responsibilities that are not included as part of any particular phase of the project but still set important expectations for the successful completion of the project. Network -Wide • Provide Existing Network Documentation— CoSB will provide NSI access to existing network configurations and documentation. Having information such as network drawings, expected failover behaviors, security policies, management addresses, passwords, licenses, running configurations, and device settings helps NSI develop a proper migration strategy for installation and configuration. • Storage and Staging Area — CoSB will designate a location for all ordered equipment to be delivered to. This location should provide a secure temperate area for storage and staging of equipment. • Equipment Transport— CoSB will transport equipment from the designated staging area to each respective installation location. • Inter -Operability with Existing Equipment— NSI will configure new equipment as specified in the design to interoperate with existing equipment. If additional devices outside the scope of the initial design are required to be reconfigured, a change -order will be created for the additional labor cost. • Location Access— CoSB will ensure timely access to the equipment installation area. Installation delays caused by access restrictions may be billable on a per occasion instance. Switching • Equipment Racks — CoSB will provide network racks that offer adequate power, cooling, and physical space for the new equipment. Physical specifications for each piece of hardware are available upon request. • Airflow—CoSB will ensure space is available around newly installed devices and allows for proper ventilation. Each device is designed to move air through it in a specific pattern. Devices should be placed in such a manner that air flows from a'cold' aisle (intake) to a'hot' aisle (exhaust). Airflow specifications for each piece of hardware are available upon request. • Power— CoSB will provide the proper PDUs or receptacles for powering all equipment. The equipment will be deployed with the power cables and connector types as specified in the quote. Power specifications for each piece of hardware being deployed including cable lengths and connector types are available upon request. • Transceivers — CoSB will provide any transceivers or twinax cables not specified in the quote. If the transceiver counts change following project acceptance, a change order can be submitted to create a quote for the required additions. • Patch Cables — CoSB will provide any and all patch cables, either fiber or copper, except those specified on the quote. If the patch cable counts or requirements change following project acceptance, a change order can be submitted to create a quote for the required additions. • Label New Equipment— NSI will apply labeling to equipment for easy identification as requested. CoSB is res onsUe to provide NSI with any labels they would like affixed to the equipment prior to installation Wireless • Power— CoSB will provide the proper switch -based or mid -span -based power source to provide PoE service for powering all access points. (The switches provided in this design will provide adequate power for the access points that are being deployed) • Patch Cables — CoSB will provide patch cables for new access point data connections except those specified on the quote. SHIPPING AND HANDLING. All equipment purchased by Customer (the "Equipment") is provided FOB at the shipping location. Shipment will be made as specified by Customer and Customer is solely responsible for all expenses in connection with the delivery of the Equipment. The Equipment will be deemed accepted by Customer upon receipt. 2. PURCHASE PRICE AND TAXES. Customer shall pay to Network Solutions, Inc. the purchase price set forth in the applicable invoice ("Purchase Price") for each item of Equipment and installation. Customer hereby grants and Network Solutions, Inc. reserves a purchase money security interest in the Equipment and the proceeds thereof as a security for its obligations hereunder until payment of the full Purchase Price to Network Solutions, Inc. Customer authorizes Network Solutions, Inc.. to file financing statements to perfect its purchase money security interest. Customer acknowledges that in the event of Customer's default and the exercise by Network Solutions, Inc. of its security interest in the Equipment, all of Customer's systems and activities which depend on the Equipment will be disrupted or rendered inoperable. The Purchase Price is due and payable upon delivery of the Equipment in accordance with the terms on the face of the invoice. Customer shall pay all taxes and other governmental charges assessed in connection with the rental, use or possession of the Equipment including, without limitation, any and all sales and/oruse taxes and personal property taxes. 3. PAST DUE INVOICES. Invoices are past due the day following the date payment is due. Interest charges shall accrue from that date. In the event of past due invoices, Customer agrees to pay to Network Solutions, Inc., as interest, an amount equal to 2% per month, or the maximum provided by law, (whichever is less) for invoice amounts that are past due. Should Network Solutions, Inc. be forced to initiate legal action to collect unpaid amounts from past due invoices, Customer agrees to pay Network Solutions, Inc.'s reasonable attorney's fees and costs of collection in addition to the interest described above. 4. TITLE. Customer shall acquire title to the Equipment upon full payment of the purchase price(s) set forth herein. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Network Solutions, Inc. and any licensor of rights to Network Solutions, Inc. shall retain title to and rights in the intellectual property (whether or not subject to patent or copyright) and content contained in the materials supplied under theterms of this Agreement. S. RETURNS. All returns must be approved by Network Solutions,Inc. and a RMA number assigned prior to return shipment, Customary restockingfees of 15% will applyto all non - defective returns. Returns delivered to Network Solutions, Inc. without prior consent will be rejected and returned. If evaluation product is not returned at the end of the evaluation period, evaluation unit invoices are due and payable on the dayfollowing the invoice date. 6. SELECTION OF EQUIPMENT; MANUFACTURER WARRANTY. Customer acknowledges that customer has selected the Equipment and disclaims any statements made by Network Solutions, Inc. Customer acknowledges and agreesthat use and possession of the Equipment by Customer shall be subjectto and controlled bythe terms of any manufacturers or, if appropriate, suppliers warranty, and Customer agreesto look solely to the manufacturer or, if appropriate, supplier with respect to all mechanical, service and other claims, and the rightto enforce all warranties made bysaid manufacturer are hereby, to the extent Network Solutions, Inc. has the right, assigned to Customer. THE FOREGOING WARRANTY IS THE EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY AND IS IN LIEU OF ANY ORAL REPRESENTATION AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND DAMAGES, WHETHER EXPRESSED, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY. NETWORK SOLUTIONS, INC. This Agreement is made under and will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Indiana (except that body of law controlling conflicts of law) and specifically excluding from application to this Agreement that law known as the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods. The parties will endeavor to settle amicably by mutual discussions any disputes, differences, or claims whatsoever related to this Agreement. Failing such amicable settlement, any controversy, claim, or dispute arising under or relating to this Agreement, including the existence, validity, interpretation, performance, termination or breach thereof, the parties to this Agreement hereby consent to jurisdiction and venue in the courts of thestate of Indiana. 9. MISCELLANEOUS. The above terms and conditions are the onlyterms and conditions upon which Network Solutions, Inc. is willing to sell the Equipment and supersede all previous agreements, promises or representations, oral or written.
