WHEREAS, comprehensive studies of the Sample Street
Redeve opment Area have been undertaken by both the Redevelopment
Department and the City Plan Commission of the City of South Bend,
as well as by private consultant and
T H E R E A S , all of these studies indicate that the area is
unsuitable for residential reuse, and that industrial and commercial
land uses are best suited for the area, and
rT H E R E A S, there is a shortage of high quality industrial land
in the City of South Bend;
OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the
South Bend Redevelopment Commission, Governing Body of the City of
South Be nd, Department of Redevelopment, that the C o m m i s s i o n
conside s the redevelopment of the Sample Street Project Area for non-
residential uses necessary for the proper development of the City of
South Be d.
