HomeMy WebLinkAboutNo. 0028 awarding the demolition contract for the Sample Street Redevelopment Project Area, INDIANA R-7RESOLUTION NO. 28 'ION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT, AWARDING THE DEMOLITION CONTRACT FOR THE SAMPLE STREET REDEVELOP- MENT P)tOJECT AREA, INDIANA R -7. WHEREAS, after a careful analysis of all the bids, the Com- missioners were of the opinion that the bid of Interstate Demolition Corpor tion, a Delaware Corporation, should be accepted for the follow 'nq reasons: 1. More than two (2) bids were received, as required by HHFA Regulations. 2. The Interstate Demolition Corporation submitted the lowest bid. 3. EREAS, the Commissioners were advised that a detailed study had be n made of all of the demolition bids submitted, WHEREAS, after a careful analysis of all the bids, the Com- missioners were of the opinion that the bid of Interstate Demolition Corpor tion, a Delaware Corporation, should be accepted for the follow 'nq reasons: 1. More than two (2) bids were received, as required by HHFA Regulations. 2. The Interstate Demolition Corporation submitted the lowest bid. 3. The Company is financially sound. 4. The Company's schedule of work is such that they can start on the project immediately. 5. References checked out and show that Company's work has been satisfactory in other cities and that other parties with whom they have done business would re -hire the Company for further work. 6. Written approval to firm has been received from the HHFA. 7. There was no irregularity or informality in the bidding procedure or in the bid of the Interstate Demolition Corporation. 8. The bid price submitted is within the cost estimate concurred in by HHFA. OW,4THEREFORE, on motion duly made, seconded, and unanimously passe , it was VED: That Interstate Demolition Corporation be notified that their bid for the Sample Street Renewal Project Indiana R -7 for the sum of Sixty -three Thousand, Seven Hundred Eighty -four dollars and Fifty -two cents ($63,784.52) be accepted. FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Executive Secretary notify said Interstate Demolition Corporation of the acceptance of this contract and notify them to submit to the Commission a fully executed agree- ment, proper form of Performance Bond, policies of insurance, and gener third .1 compliance with all initial documents required of them. URTHER RESOLVED: That all other bids, except the second and lowest be returned to the bidders. That the second and third lowest bids be held until the contract with the Interstate Demolition Corporation has been fully executed, and thereupon the said second and third lowest bids be returned to the bidders. ADOPTED at a special meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission held March 28, 1961, at the office of the Commission, 129 W st Colfax Avenue, South Bend, Indiana.
