RESOLD ION APPROVING AND PROVIDING FOR THE EXECUTION OF A PROPOSED
CONTRA T FOR PLANNING ADVANCE FOR SURVEYS AND PLANS FOR URBAN RENEWAL
PROJEC UNDER TITLE I OF THE HOUSING ACT OF 1949, AS AMENDED, NUMBERED
CONTRA T NO. INDIANA R -39 (FS) (A), BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, EPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
MIEREAS the United States of America (herein called the "Govern-
ment") has tendered to the City of South Bend, Department of Redevelop-
ment (herein called the "Local Public Agency ") a proposed Contract for
Planning Advance for Surveys and Plans for Urban Renewal Project under
Title of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, under which the Govern-
ment would make an advance of Federal funds to the Local Public Agency
to aid in financing the cost of certain surveys and plans in prepara-
tion o an urban renewal project designated Project No. Indiana R -39
(PS) i the urban reheiwal area described in such proposed Contract;
and
WHEREAS the Local Public Agency has given due consideration to
said p oposed Contract:
BE IT RESOLVED BY the South Bend Redevelopment Commission of the
City o South Bend Department of Redevelopment AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The proposed Contract for Planning Advance for Surveys
and PL ins for Urban Renewal Project under Title I of the Housing Act
of 1949, as amended, designated Contract No. Indiana R- 39(FS)(A),
consisting of Parts I and II, under and subject to the terms and
conditions of which the Government would make an advance of Federal
funds to the Local Public Agency to aid in financing the cost of
certain surveys and plans for an urban renewal project designated
Project No. Indiana R- 39(FS), situated in the City of South Bend,
Indian , is hereby in all respects approved.
Se tion 2. The President of the Local Public Agency is hereby
author zed and directed to execute said proposed Contract in two
counte parts on behalf of the Local Public Agency, and the Secretary
is her by authorized and directed to impress and attest the official
seal o the Local Public Agency on each such counterpart and to for-
ward s ch counterparts to the Housing and Home Finance Agency for
execut on on behalf of the Government, together with such other docu-
ments elative to the approval and execution thereof as well as to
this R solution as may be required by the Government.
Section 3. The President is hereby authorized to file requisi-
tions, together with necessary supporting documents, with the Govern-
ment, from time to time as advance funds are required, requesting
payments to be made on account of the advance provided for in the
said C ntract, and to do and perform all other things and acts required
to be ;one or performed in order to obtain such payments.
. This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
