RESOLD ON OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT
AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR LOAN AND GRANT FOR
PROJECT NO. INDIANA R -7.
WHEREAS it is necessary and in the public interest that the City
of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment avail itself of the finan-
cial assistance provided by Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as
amended, to carry out the urban renewal project described as Sample
Street Project Indiana R -7 and bounded generally by the New York
Central Main Line right -of -way, Scott St., Prairie Ave., Garst St.,
the east property line of the Wilson Bros. Plant, Kerr St., Catalpa
Ave., Sample St., McPherson St., the first alley north of Dunham St.,
the second alley east of Laurel St., Dunham St. and Chapin St." herein-
after referred to as the "Project "; and
WHEREAS it is recognized that the Federal contract for such finan-
cial a sistance pursuant to said Title I will impose certain obliga-
tions nd responsibilities upon the Local Public Agency and will
requir among other things: (1) the provision of local grants -in-
aid; 2) a feasible method for the relocation of families displaced
from t e project area; and (3) other local obligations and responsi-
biliti s in connection with the undertaking and carrying out of urban
renews projects:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT R=LVED BY THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT
COMMISSION OF THLI CSTY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT,
That an Application on behalf of the City of South Bend, Department
of Redevelopment for a loan under Section 102(a) of ,said Title I in
the amount of $2,527,500 and for a Project Capital Grant and a
Relocation Grant to the full amount available for undertaking and
financing the Project is hereby approved, and that the President is
hereby authorized and directed to execute and to file such Application
with the Housing and Home Finance Agency, and to provide such addition-
al information and to furnish such documents as may be required in
behalf of said Agency, and to act as the authorized correspondent
of the City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment.
