HomeMy WebLinkAboutNo. 0055 confirming resolution Chapin Street Redevelopment Project Area INDIANA R-29 adopted February 5, 1963RESOLUTION NO. 55 CITY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT CONFIRMATORY RESOLUTION CHAPIN STREET REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA, INDIANA R -29 ADOPTED FEBRUARY 5, 1963 WHEREAS, following the adoption of the Declaratory Resolution, Chapin Street Redevelopment Project Area, Indiana R -29, by the South Bend Re evelopment Commission on November 15, 1962, the same, together with the supporting data, was submitted to the South Bend City Plan Commission, which Plan Commission issued its written orders deter- mining hat said Declaratory Resolution and the redevelopment plan conform d to the master plan of development forthe City of South Bend, aid approved said Declaratory Resolution and the redevelopment plan; a0d , notice of the adoption of the Declaratory Resolution, Chapin otreet Redevelopment Project Area, Indiana R -29, and purport thereof; of the fact that maps and plats were available for inspection at the office of the Department; and that a hearing would be held on 2dwuary15, 1963, 7:30 P.M. EST, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall, a� which hearing remonstrances and objections would be received and hea d by the Commission and the public utility and benefit of said pr ject would be finally determined by the Commission; which notice as published in the South Bend Tribune and The Record once each we k for two consecutive weeks, the last publication being at least W said n and he or aff the Du (10) days before the date fixed for the hearing; and such hearing was held at the time and place fixed in ice for said public hearing and for the purpose of receiving ing remonstrances and objections from persons interested in by such proceedings, and for the purpose of determining lic utility and benefit thereof; and -1- tit no written remonstrances or objections were received prior to or at such hearing, and all persons present desiring to be heard in reference to this project have been heard; and EREAS, the Commission has given consideration to all of the statements made by all persons interested in said proceedings and is now Pre�ared to take final action thereon; and , the Commission now finds that it will be of public utility and benefit to proceed with the acquisition of the property in the blighted area described in the Declaratory Resolution, Chapin Street edevelopment Project Area, Indiana R--29, adopted by the Commiss on on November 15, 1962, and that said Declaratory Resolution should a confirmed; now therefore, tE :ET RESOLVED by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission, Governi g Body of the City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment, that it will be of public utility and benefit to proceed with the elan of redevelopment as set forth in the Declaratory Resolution, Chapin reet Redevelopment Project Area, adopted by the Commission, and said resolution is now hereby confirmed. at the special meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission held on February 5, 1963, at the Council Chambers of the City Hall, South Bend, Indiana.
