Key Performance Indicator’s Impacting Ecological Stewardship:
Pruned and provided healthcare to 92 parks trees
Pruned and provided healthcare to 104 city trees
Watered 540 trees to counteract the lack of rain

Neighborhood Park Upgrade Project:
New playgrounds and exercise equipment have been installed in the following neighborhood parks, Coquillard, Brown Field, Boland, Walker Field, Randolph, River Manor, Boehm, and Riverside
Trail. Highlights include a zip line, exercise pods, and accessible equipment for all our users.
Six newly renovated and upgraded restrooms have been reopened for use. The other five remaining restrooms are scheduled to be finished by 8/30. Upgrades have included reaching modern
day ADA compliance as well as new pathways and a hire level of amenities such as hand driers.
This marks the first time in our history we have been able to invest over $1 million across our neighborhood parks on upgrades in one single project.
Landscaping:
Planted over 100 plants in front of the newly renovated Erskine Clubhouse. Species include barberry and veronica.
Installed new exterior landscaping and trees at Four Winds Field in time for the All-Star Game. Species include astilbe, veronica, hydrangea, viburnum, and a plane tree.
Replaced 300 plants along the Smart Streets streetscapes that did not survive the exceptionally harsh winter of 2018 and early 2019.

Purchasing
In July, F&G saved $2,578 on products and materials by using competitive pricing with vendors.

Forestry
The City Forester has negotiated a legal low payment plan for 12 residents who are experiencing financial hardships and cannot afford to take care of dead and dying trees on their property.
This allows City crews to remove the dangerous liability, while still allowing the resident to make low monthly payments with 0 interest.
Facilities & Grounds Purchasing
F&G used two MWB vendors and contractors this July for over $1,000 worth of purchasing. This is just a start and we are actively looking for ways to drive this number up. Additionally
Sarah Hull has assembled an Indiana list of MWB vendors that we can use to increase our outreach.
New Team Member:
Brian Garner joined the Facilities and Grounds team as the new Safety Supervisor. Immediately Brian has made a positive impact in keeping our residents and team members safe.
Continuing Education
Project Manager Patrick Sherman has started studying for his CAPM testing from the Project Management Institute.
Safety:
VPA Staff spent over 37 hours in safety training in the areas of hazardous communication, bloodborne pathogens, and equipment operations.
