SOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION,
VERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT
REDEVELOPMENT, APPROVING THE UNDERTAKING OF SURVEYS
D PLANS FOR AN URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT KNOWN AS THE
DUSTRIAL EXPANSION PROJECT AND FILING OF AN APPLICA-
WHE EAS, under Title I of the Housing A---t of 1949, as amended
(herein referred to as "Title I ") , tile Housing and Hon::: Finance Ad-

public agencies in the elimination and prevention of the spread
of their slums and urban blight through the planning and under-
taking of urban renewal projects; and
WHEREAS it is desirable and in the public interest that the
City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment make surveys and
prepare plans, -presently estimated to cost approximately THIRTY—

($_37 331-,.o,00 ), in order to undertake and carry out an urban
renewal project of the character contemplated by Section 110(c) of
Title I in that a4ea proposed as an Urban Renewal Area, situated
in the ity of South Bend, County of St. Joseph, and State of
Indiana which is described as follows:
BEG NNING at the intersection of the North line of Cotter
Street and the East line of Kendall Street; thence South
along the East line of Kendall Street a distance of
approximately Five Hundred and Seventy Feet (570' +) to the
North right -of -way line of the New Jersey, Indiana and
Illinois Railroad; thence west along the North right -of-
way line of the said railroad a distance approximately of
Twelve Hundred and Twenty Feet (1,220' ±) to the W st line
of rairie Avenue; thence in a Northeasterly direction
alo g the West line of Prairie tivenue a distance approxi-
mat ly of Six Hundred and Forty Feet (640' +.) to the North
lin of Cotter Street extended; thence East along the
Nor :h line of Cotter Street a distance: approximately of
Nin Hundred and Thirty Feet (9301st) to the intersection
of he East line of Kendall Street, this point of inter -
sec ion being the point of beginning.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT
COMMISSION:
1. That the proposed Urban Renewal Area described above is
appropriate
for an urban renewal project, and that the undertaking by the
City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment of surveys and
plans for an urban renewal project of the character contemplated
by Section 110(c) of Title I in the proposed Urban Renewal Area
is hereby approved.

That it is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed

financial assistance under Title I, including those relat-

of members of the Governing Body voted in the proper manner for the
adoptior of said resolution. All other requirements and proceedings
under law, said bylaws, or otherwise, incident to the proper adoption
of said resolution, including any publication, if required by law,
have been duly fulfilled, carried out, and otherwise observed.

the Local Public Agency and was duly affixed by the undersigned at
