RESOLUTION RELATING TO ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY
BY CONDEMNATION ore'
WHE' AS, it is necessary by the Board of Commissioners of the
Department of Redevelopment of the City of South Bend, Indiana
to a quire the following real estate in the urban renewal area
known as Indiana R -29 - Chapin Street Project Area in the City
of S uth Bend, Indiana:

S, the Department of Redevelopment of the City of South
Ben , Indiana has made an effort to purchase the above des -
cri ed property from the owners, but the Department and said
own rs have been unable to agree as to the purchase price.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners of the
Department of Redevelopment of the City of South Bend, Indiana,
that they should proceed to acquire the above described parcels
of zeal estate under the power of eminent domain as described
by the laws of the State of Indiana in order to carry out the
redevelopment plan, and their attorney, Bruce Hammerschmidt,
is directed to file a petition in the name of tte City of South
Bend, Indiana on behalf of the Department of Redevelopment in
the appropriate Court of St. Joseph County, Indiana in order
tha an appraiser be appointed to establish the value of said
rea - estate.
