RESOLtJTIO AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF BID OF CLEMANS REALTY, INC. FOR
LAND IN T SAMPLE STREET REDEVELOPMENT INDIANA R -7 AREA
WHEREAS, Clemans Realty, Inc., by Arthur C. Clemans, its president, and
Arthur Sch ifke, its Secretary - Treasurer, has submitted a written offer
below the ninimum concurred -in price of 25.70 per square foot on Disposal
Parcel co only referred to as No. 2(a), Sample Street Redevelopment
Project In iana R -7; and
WHEREAS, tie South Bend Redevelopment Commission has determined that the
acceptance of this bid is in accordance with the approved disposal program
for this a ea: and
WHEREAS, tie land to be sold has previously been offered for sale by
soliciting sealed bids, with no bids having been received for said property,
and more t an ninety (90) days having elapsed since said offering, the
Commission therefore determines that the disposal of said land by negotiation
is the app opriate method of land disposition; and
WHEREAS, the offer of 230 per square foot by Clemans Realty, Inc. for ten
(10) acres is considered a fair market value for uses in accordance with
the Urban Renewal Plan, and will result in a saving of approximately
$40,000.00 because the proposed service road will not have to be construc-
ted on this parcel;
NOW, THEREFORE,, THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION accepts the offer
of Clemans Realty, Inc. to acquire at a price of 230 per square foot, being
a total purchase price in the sum of $100,188.00, and to redevelop the
designated Disposition Parcel 2(a) in accordance with the Urban Renewal
Plan and land disposition contract, which real estate isaDre particularly
described s follows:
Parcel 2(a) as shown on the recorded plat of the Inner Belt Industrial
Park, a ubdivision of the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County,
Indiana.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission
held Dece. er 10, 1964 at the office of the Commission, 129 W. Colfax
Avenue, So th Bend, Indiana.
