HomeMy WebLinkAboutNo. 0100 approving the nondiscrimination requirements under the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI) for Project No. INDIANA R-7RESOLUTION NO, 100 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION APPROVING THE NONDISCRIMINATION REQUIRE- MENTS UNDER THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964 (TITLE VI) FOR PROJECT NO, INDIANA R -7 WHEREA,15, under Title I of the Housing Act of 19491, as amended (herein referred to as Title I), the Housing and Home Finance Administrator is authorized to extend financial assistance to local public agencies in the elimination and prevention of the spread of their slums and urban blight through the planning and undertaking of urban renewal projec s; and WHEREAS, Title VT of the Civil nights Act of 19640 and the regulations of the Housing and Home Finance Agency effectuating that Title, provide that no person shall on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or.be subjec ed to discrimination in the undertaking and carrying out of urban �`: newal projects assisted under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, amended; NOW, s EF09si BE IT R$SMVED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, REDEVELOPMENT COMMI ION AS FOLLOWS: 1. 2. That it recognizes and will comply with regulations and requirements prohibiting discrimination applicable in accord with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1949. That the United States of America and the Housing and Home Finance Administrator be, and they hereby are assured of full compliance by the City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment with regulations of the Housing and Home Finance Agency effectuating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. /Y I thisN4,th day of March, 1965.
