The Council has organized a survey in order to gather a general opinion about the Common Council and what constituents believe may need to take place in order to better the South Bend community. The project is headed by Dr. Janet Evelyn of JEvelyn Consulting and the Common Council and City Clerk’s Public Relations interns Ryan Wroblewski, Morgan Gonsoski, David Moses, and Shanita Hunt. Participants will be asked for their personal opinions on both the actions taken in their specific district but also within the city in its entirety and be given the opportunity to provide suggestions and feedback. The survey will consist of four questions that include answers based on a linear scale along with short answers. The survey will be available in a paper and an online format. Participants can find copies of the survey at the County-City Building in downtown South Bend, in various community centers within the city, or in the mail. 100 residents from each district have been chosen at random to receive copies in the mail, along with another 150 residents across all six districts, but are available to every resident of the City of South Bend. They can be submitted through the mail or brought directly to the County-City Building. The survey can also be found online at https://forms.gle/ZXYhG7mpP9voTB3J7. Once the survey has been completed, a presentation, along with data visualization tools, will be prepared and presented to Council members and then shared with the public via the Council’s website and social media accounts. Council members will then be able to use the information to apply solutions geared toward their specific district.
