All members present J Bids were awarded on the folloyt ng Sewer Improvements. Trunk Sewer on Sample Street, Under Improvement Resolution No.. 133 awdrded to L.H. Webster. %Trunk Sewer on Ford Street,Under Improvement Resolution No. 134,awarded to. DePeape iCoussins. Pipe S1er. on College Street, Under -Improvement Resolution No. 13�,awarded to Henry ti eVes. ipe Sewer on Allep Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 136. Awarded to L.H. ebst er. JPipe'Se'wer on Miner Street, Under Improvement Resolution No. 137. Awarded to L.H. Webster.. Pipe Sewer on Johnson Street, Under Improvement Resolution No. 139. Awarded to L.H. We b st a r. Strip. of land dedicated for the opening of Greenlawn Avenue from they North aside of East Vefferason Blvd. north to the South line of LaSalle Road, presented to the Board. In the- above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. Therefore be it resolved that the Board find in each and every ease in said improvements that the benefits to t e property, and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said improvements and the same are hereby in all things are,, confirmed and ap Droved. Be it resolved that notices be published in the South Bend Daily Times on the 13th day of June and on the 20th. day of June, 1912 to the effect that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvements up to 10:00 A. M. on the 4th. day of June 1912. In the above matter.no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed, there- upoh,being fully advised in the matter the Board takes final action on said resolution confirming without modification, all former action taken on the same. The Board therefore declares the above property in all things condemned and appropriated for pub -lie use, the Board now orders that a° list or roll be prepared of all the owners or holders of property and of valuable interests therein sought to be taken or to be injuriously affected, which said list or roll shall also describe the property. benefiei-- ally affected. ,/Hearing given on Assessment' Roll and Final Estimate for Water Connections on Fellows Street from Monroe Street to Sample Street Under Impm vement Resolution No. 99 in the City of South Bend, Indl ana. No remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed, The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said rills filed April 16th. 1912 is benefited in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls, and the Board further find that the assessment rolls filed April 16,1912 and the final estimate allowed April 16th. 1912, should be and the same are hereby in all things rat ified,confirmed and approved. The Board of Public Works herewith presents its report for the following Sewer, Gas and Water Connections. Board of Public Works. OTTO C. BASTIAN , President. RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. On motion duly made and seconded, the following preamble and resolutions were unanimously adopted: WHEREAS. This Board did on the loth. day of January 1912 deem it ex- pedient and of public utility to permanently improve WALNUT STREET between COLFAX AVENUE and LA PORTE AVENUE, by paving the roadway of the same, and did on said date pass and ado adopt a .resolution authorizing said permanent improvement, and WHEREAS. The City Engineer has prepared and filed with this Board a re- port showing the the number and location, as well as the material to be used and the manner of laying the same, of the service* pipes, mains, conduits, laterals and conneetior which are, ,or will be necessary to accommodate the abutting property owners with gas, water, heat, steam or any other product for which any person, firm or corporation had been granted a franchise for supplying the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, Which report is as follow* REPORT REFERRED TO _SHOWING. And be it further Resolved, that it is contemplated by this Board to improve WALNUT STREET from COLFAX AVENUE to LA PORTE AVENUE, all in said City of South Bend, by Grading and paving said street with Asphalt, Bitulithic, Creosoted Wooden Block s or Brick, laid on a five (5) inch portland cement gravel concrete foundation. All`a as shown on the profiles, detail drawings and specifications on file in theoffies of the Department of Public Works of said City, and that it is, and is hereby de- clared, necessary for the Northern Indiana -Gas & Electric Company, Mich has, and operates under, a franchise from said City to supply gas to the citizens ®f said City, to provide and install mains', laterals, service pipes and connections for gas in said part of said street, of the description., location: and number get forth In said report of said City Engineer, which mains,, service :pipes and conre ctions are hereby declared necessary for the immediate use of said Company in supplying gas" to the owners of property abutting upon said part of said street.
