I/ emmitte from the Team Owners Union .appeared before the Board in regard to the scale of wages for teams and teaming for the yeah 1912. The Board agreed to pay for all City teams ing at the Union rate of wages, Five ( 5 00)Dollars per day. Aeatiring given on the Olive. Street Pipe Sewer, Under Improvement Resolution ,No. 142., In this matter all action was deferred until April the 26th. at 10:00 A.M. Hearing :given on Niles Avenues Grade, Curb and Walk, Under Improvement Resolution No. 139 Ir this matter all action was deferred until April the 26th. 1912. 'Hearing given on Grade on Fat. Alley Eaet of High Street from Milton Ave nut to Dayton Street, Under Improvement Resolution No. 140. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. Therefore be it resolved that the Board find in each and even case in said improvements that the benefits to the property, and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said improvements. and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and ap- p roved.. Be it resolved that notices be published in the South Bend Daily Times on the 24th. day of April and on the lst. day of May 1912 to the effect that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvements up to 10:_00 A.M. on the 14th. day of May 1912. The Board reserves the. right to reject any and all bids. V Iearing given on Vacation Resolution No. 16 for the purpose of vas eating the following der-cribed propert�.to-vdt:- Division Street from Eddy Street In the above matter Mr. William Crabill attorney for the -Grand Trunk Railroad, appeared but no remonstrances were= filed, the Board therefore sustain all former action taken, and declare the above rat lid, coni rmed and approved.. The City Engineer is instructed to 1peepare a roll showing awards of damages and assess- ments of benefits to all parties and properties interested or affected. This resolution was unanimously adopted by the Board. this 23rd. day of April,1912. ✓Hearing given on Condempation Resolution No. 15. for the purpose of appropriating .a strip of land along the Grand Trunk & Western Railway, on East Division Street from South Francis to South Eddyt' In the above matter Mr. WILLIam Crabill,Atterney for the Grand Trunk Railroad, appeared but no remonstrances were filed. Being fully advised in the matter, the Board takes fi k final action on said resolutiorml confirming without modification, all former action taken on the same. The Board therefore declares the above property in all things condemned and appropriated for Public use, the Board now orders that a list or roll be prepared or all the owners or holders of property and of valuable interests therein sought to be taken or to be injuriously affected, which said list or roll shall also describe the property bene- ficially affected. �I respectfully report that I have tabulated the bids submitted March 1 h. for the �. e9t paving of Madis6n Street and find that C. H. De Frees is the lowest and best bidder with Marion Block laid on a six inch gravel foundation. I therefore recommend that he be awarded the contract. Respectfully, W. S. The same to be used for the purpose of transferring cars by hand.` Approved by the Board temporially. ✓Light ordered placed an Coquil'lard Street between Campau and Sortn Street. ✓Pettti_ax re ne ved and read petitioning °for Coal Tar Macadam on Garfield Court from Wash- ington Avenue to South end of Court. Referred to City Engineer 'for investigation. Petition received and read, petitioning for a pipe sewer on Garfield Court from Wash- ington Avenue to South end of Court. Referred to City Engineer for investigation. COPY OF IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION N0, 151 RESOLVED. BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,INDI ANA: - That bids be received for the construction and repairing of cement walks and curbs on different streets, in the City where the sane already is partly cons'tio cted or defective. All work to be constructed or repaired in accordance with Standard speci- ficatiox on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City. All work to be done and assessments made as provided in Section 1 of Act entitled, "An Act Concerning Municipal Corporati6ns,approved 1909. " Said Improvement shall -be known and de si gnat ed as GENERAL SIDEWALK AND REPAIR WORK ON VARIOUS STREETSt and shall be constructed according to the plans and speci- fications prepared by the Civil Engineer herewith. -- Notice of this resolution shall be published on the . 25th. day of April 1912 and ®n the 2nd. day of May 1912 in the South Bend Daily Times.- This Board will give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 21st: d€)r of May 1912 at 10:00 A Bond or Bonds to be i ssue d to the Contractor in payment _ fer such work where the property owner signs waiver required,, as according.to lave. The Board now orders that so much a said Street be improved with Vitrified Brick,laid on a gravel foundation and awards the con- tract to C.P.DeFREES, he being the lowest and best bidder upon Marion Block.
