The contract for the paving of North Lafayette Street from Foote Street to Navarro' Street,Under Improvement Resolution No. 132 was awarded to the Western Construction Company, to be paved with Trinidad Lake Asphalt. Petition received and read petitions-ng the Board to place a submerged out -let into deep water for the out let of the, Leland Avenue Trunk Sever. The" same referred to the City- Engineer for investigation. contractors, Bond signed by John A. Swartz and the United States F.i di lity Company, Com an � , Guarantee Company and approved by the Board. ✓ Contract and Franchise submitted to the Board 'by the St. Joseph Heating Company, read and placed on file. Street light ordered placed by the Board at the Corner o T!tftyetrte;-. fit and Indiana Avenue Ts the Han. Board of Public Works, of the City of South Bend, Indiana. Gentlemen:- o I respectfully report that I have tabulated the bids submitted on, the 10ta d y of April,l,ol2 for the paving :and grade, curb and walk an No. Lafayeette street and find that THE 'WESTERN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY is the lowest and best bidders upon TRINIDAD LAKE ASPHALT laid upon aa, Concrete Foundation. Concerning the improvement of No. Lafayette Street from Navarro Street to Foote Street in purrsuance of Improvement Resolution No. 132 1912,ef the City of South Bend,Indiana, the preliminary order for said improvement heretofore adopted is hereby confirmed. The Beard now orders that so much of said street be improved wit Trinidad Lake Asphalt laid on a concrete foundation and awards the contract to THE- WESTERN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY they being the lowest and best bidders upon Asphalt Adopted this 12th. day of April 1912. Therefore, be it resolved that the Board find" in each and every case in said improvements that the benefits to the property and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said improvements and the sane are hereby in all things ratified,confirmed. and approved. Be it resolved that notices be. published in the South Bend Times on the l9th. day of Apri 1912 and on the 25th., day of April 1912 to the effect thet'this Board will receive bids fbr, the construction of said improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on the 7th. day of May 1912, The Board, ''reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Declaratory Hearing given on Improvement Resolution No. 134 for Trunk Sewer on Ford Street from Koeci.u.szko Street to Olive Street. In the Matter oral remonstrators appeared, but no written remonstrance was filed. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances Were filed. Therefore be it resolved that the Board Find in each and every case in said improvements that the benefits to' the property, and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said improvements and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said improvements and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Be it resolved that notices be published in the South Bend Times on the l8th". day .of April 1912 and on the 25th. day of April 1912 to the effect that this Board will. receive bids for the constraction of said improvements up to 10:00 A. M. on the_ nth. day of May% 1912. The Board reserves .the right to reject any all all bids. Hearing given on ampessment roll and final estimate for Pipe Sewer on Ang*lla,_ BlaainQ,lioodw&rd,Portage Ave's & McCartney Street from St. Joseph River to Alley North of Kinyon Street & C. I. & S. R. R. Viaduct, Under Improvement Resolution No. 59. Oral remonstrators appeared but no written remonstrances were filed. The Board there fore find that the property assessed in said rolls filed March 15th. 1912 benefited in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls, and the Board further -find that the assessment rolls filed :March 15th. 1912 and the final estimate all®wed March 15th. 1912 should be and the same are hereby in all things ratified, comm fi rmed and approved.
