RESOLVED, By The Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend,Indiana* That it is deemed and desired necessary to open and extend Sherman Avenue to &,uniform width of forty (40) feet across lot 21 in Millers Addition in the City of South Bend,, in St. Joseph County of the State of Indian&,by the condemnation and aPpropriation of that part of lot-21 in said Filler's Addition which lyem in said Sherman Avenue specifically described as follows -to -wit: Begirrni- - at a point,on the West line of said Sherman Avenue and the North line of lot 21 in Miller's Addition to the City of South Bend,Indiana; thence South along the * s &i d West line of Sherman ' Avenue ,extended to the North line of the First Alley North of Oak Street;. thence East along the North line of said Alley to a point in line with the East line of Sherman Avenue if extended South; thence North in line with the East line of raid Sherman Avenue to the North line of lot 21 in said Millerts Addition; thence Nortl T westerly along ,�he Northerly line of said lot 21 to tree West line! of Sherman Avenue vhich point is the place of beginning. The following described -property may be injuriously or beneficially ftffecV- ed in the City of South Bend.,Indiana,, by the opening and txtention of said Sherman Avenue as above described, is known and described as the ground herein proposed to be condemned and ao-propriated therefor, and all the lots and lands and parcels of lots lying within t",,).e following described territory in the City of South Bend,, Indiftnato-wit:- BeSri nning on the South line -of Michigan Avenue and the first alley West of Sherman Avenue: thence South along the First -Alley west of said Sherman Avenue to the North line of Oak Street;thence East along the North line of said Oak Street to the first alley: east of Sherman Avenue; thence North along the first alley East of said Sherman Avenue to the South line of Kichiq,an Avenue;thence Nort-ftwe'sterly along the southerly line of seld Michigan Avenue to the first alley West of S.nLerman Avenue which point is the place of baginning,,all as shown by a plat of such territory now on file in the office of the department of public works of the City.of South BendIndiana. Barnes of South Bend, I ndi ana who being first duly sworn upon hi z o th,deposes and says that on the 19th. day of March,1912, between the hours 9 and 10. O'clock he made out a. bid for paving in the City,of South Bend, Ind .ana,and deposited with the clerk of the Board of Public Works of said City; that said bid 'is correct in all respects except that part contained 7n said bid referring to two kinds of paving block named Metropolitan and Culver . block is not correct in that the amount in cents were: not carried out for the rea— son that at the time of deposittn.g said bids said affient had not received any quotations of price on said- Metropolitan and Culver block; that sei. d affi a,nt throw that part of said bid referring to sa.iO, Metropolitan and Culver blacks..
