All members present. ✓ Reportsreeeived and read from the City Engineer as follows: I respectfully report that I have tabulated the bids submitted on Feb. 28th. for tie paving oalnut St. and find --that C.H. De Frees is the lowest and beet bidder with Indiana Block on a gravel foundation. I therefore recommend that he be awarded the cont ract . Motion made, seconded and carried that the foregoing report be unanimously adopted by the Board. I herewith report that I have tabulated the bids submitted on the 29th. of February .for the paving of Portage Avenue and I find that C.H. De Frees is the lowest and best bidder with Inditna Block on a gravel foundation. I therefore recommend that he be awarded the contract. Lotion made, seconded and carried,that the foregoing report be unanimously adopted by the Board. ✓ I beg to report that I have tabulated the bids for the Asphalt pavement on South Main Street, and find that the bid of the Western Construction Co. is the lowest and best and I recommend commend that they be awarded the contract,' 'notion ;made, seconded and carried,that the foregoing report be unanimously adopted by the Board. Motion made,seconded and carried,that the foregoing report be unanimously . adopted by the Board. ORDER SELECTING KIM, OF PAVEMENT.. Concerning the improvement of the roadway on Portage Ave. from the M.C. Viaduct to the Alley North of Kinyon St, in pursuance of Improvement Resolution No.113 19121,the preliminary order for said improvement heretofore adopted is hereby confirmed. The Board now orders that so much of said street be improved with Vitrified Brick laid on a gravel foundation and awards the contract to C. H. DEFREES,he being the lowest and best bidder uponINDIANA BLOCK Motion made, seconded and earried,that the foregoing order be unanimously adopted by the Board. BOARD OF' PUBLIC WORKS. OTTO C. F'.NIEDBALSKI ORDER SELECTING THE KIND OF PAVEMENT Concerning the improvement of Walnut Street from Colfax Ave. to LaPorte Ave., in pursuance of Improvement Resolution No.11211912, the preliminary order for said improvement heretofore adopted is hereby confirmed. The Board now orders that so much of said street -be improved with Vitrified Brick,laid on a gravel foundation, and awards the contract to C. H. DeFrees he being the lowest and best bidder upon INDIANA BLOCK. Motion made, seconded and carried,that the foregoing order be unanimously adopted by the Board. OTTO C. BASTIAN F. E. LAMBERT BOARD OIL PUBLIC WORKS. CHAS. F. NIEDBALSKI ORDER SELECTING THE KIND OF PAVEMENT. Concerning the improvement of the roadway of South Mein Street from ✓ Mayne Street to Monroe Street, in pursuance to Improvement Resolution No115 19121,the preliminary order for said improvement heretofore adopted is hereby confirmed. The Board now orders that so much of said street be improved by resurfacing the present brick pavement with ASPHALT,and awards the contrAt to the Western Construction Company. Crabi 11, Attorney for the Gran& Trunk &- Western Railroad2 appeared before the taard and submitted plans for the Vacation and relocation of Division Street from rancis Street to Eddy Street. The's.am-e were referred to the: City Attorney to draw up renolutions-on the same. z Attorney George Kurtz appeared before the Board in the interestof Mr. Gilbert regarding the opening of Sherman Avenue south. The Board ordered Mr. Kurtz to present a pro— position for their consideration. Hearing given on Condemnation Resolution No. 12 for the opening of High Street from DuBail Avenue to Dayton Street. The same was deferred until March the 1.9th. 1912 at 10:00 A.M. fearing given on Condemnation Resolution No.13 for thepurp6se of appropriating land along Bowman Creek.. The same was deferred until March the 15th. 1912 at 10:00 A.A0 t � President.
