D. , 19112 by and between the City of South Bend, by and throu ;h its Board of Public Works, of St.' Joseph County, State of Indiana,, party of the first part, and The Welsba.ch Street Li;�,htin€g Company of America,, a corporation created under and purusant to the laws of t.11e State of Illinois, party of the second part: WITNESSETTI: That the s�-,id parties hereto, in consideration of the promises and agreements herein Mutually entered into, do', for themselves and their successors and assigns, promise and agree to and with each other as follows: The said party of the second pert hereby agrees to furnish to the party of the first part Improved Welsbach Street Lights and to maintain the same in accordance with the Specifications contained herein, for the period of five years, Commencing January first, 1912. EQUIPMENT FUND SERVICE. The said party of the second part further a,krrees to Furnish and erect, at its own cost and e-pen se, where not already erected., first-class Iron Lamp Ports and Boulevard "Lanterns, equiiped with the Improved Attacluments for the 7elsb€aeh System of Street Lix: kiting. LItrHTING SCHEDULE. , The, lamps sha 1 be lighted every nit -lit in each month, and shall burn from dusk to 12 o'clock midnight, and said party of the first part sha11, if it be required thht lamps remain burning a f7rea,ter number of hours per night, pay therefor to said party of the second part a sun in addition to and at the same rate as the compensation hereinafter' provided `'or. COMPENS;,_TION. In consideration Of the furnishing g of said lights and for the faithful per- formance of and compliance with all and singular the terms and-.tipulation.s of this contract in every particular by the said party of the second part, as aforesaid, the c&.id party of t e First part covenants and agrees that it will pay -for the number of lights above speci:"ied at the rate of Eighteen Dollars per light per year, the paymenttherefor to be made nonthly at the rate of One Dollar and fifty cents ( 1.50 : per lif-fht per month at the end of the month for whieh the services have been rendered. 294 f It is agreed and- understood however, that said party of the first part may order an additional -amp or lamps at any time, and said party of the second part will pnoper3r place and egmip the same within a reasonable 'time after receiving such order, anc< it is further a -_:reed and -understood that wheneve-, ten (10) additional lamps have been so ordered by said party of the first part, w ,ether at one or at different timer,`, the compensation to said party of the seend part shall, from that time on, during the life of this contract, be at t1ae rate of Sixteen ($16.00) Dollars per year for each lamp, including those now and hereafter placed; the payment therefor to be paid in equal monthly installments of One Dollar and.
