RE: Alley Vacation — 15' Wide Right -of -Way along the South Side Napoleon St. from N. St.
Peter St. to N. Notre Dame Ave. (Preliminary Review)
Dear Mr. Marcus:
The Board of Public Works, at its June 25, 2019, meeting, reviewed comments by the Engineering
Division, Area Plan Commission, Community Investment, Fire Department, Police Department,
and the Street Department.
Per Indiana Code 36-7-3-13, the vacation met all criteria. The Engineering Department stated a
professional survey should be required to show the exact location of the current property lines in
relation to existing sidewalks. Once the exact dimensions are determined, submit a design plan
showing the changes proposed to the right-of-way line. The Board also stated the vacation should
leave one (1) foot right-of-way back from the sidewalk.
Therefore, the Board of Public Works submitted a favorable recommendation for the vacation of
this alley.
Please contact. Donna Hanson at 574 235-' 254 prior to pickin u p your radius map, You
will need a radius map showing properties within 150' of the proposed vacation for your petition
to the Common Council. Once you pick up the radius map, proceed to the City Clerk's office for
your alley vacation packet.
