City attorney.
141r. William Inwood. petitioned ta-ie City to allow him to grade next to his barn
in t-Ye Arst alley Sout , of South Street from Maim St. from Main st. to the first
alley east and to allow the cost of sane on the paving of the Alley when same was
^nstructed..Allowed.
fir. Peter Dubail asked the Board for the privalege to cross the Colfax ave. Race
Bridge in moving a house the s-megranted.
Central Union Telephone Co. petitioned for the privilege of setting four poles and
✓ two anchors on Kenyon street between Portage ave. and Missula Ave. and one pole on
Missula Ave. West of Kenyon Street. No alley there .approved.
Petition received asking for a Street light on So. Mic higan St. at Victoria St.
the same refered to Street Commissioner.
Street Commissioner was ordered to fill up holes o'i Wtst hivksion St with gravel.
Clerk was ordered to notify the Chicago Lake Shore & South :bend Railway Co. to plank
the street and alley crossings at and between Meade,Fremont,Kaley and. Anthony ,Streets.
The Board ordered a UnA; day notice served on Mrs. Wilber Ward for dirty walks
on Milton Street .

to be placed on Division Street from Olive Street west to the City Limits all
according to plans and specifications on file in the office of the Board of Public
Works of said City. - Said Improverient shall be known and designated as DIVISION STREE
GRAVEL IMPRO TT And shall be constructed according to the plans and specification
prepared by the City Civil Engineer filed herewith. Notice of proposals for bids
for t e execution of the above work shall be published on the 16 day of -August and

Resolved.,that an improvement be made of t e kind,size l6cation and terminal
points as !-'ollows: Improvement of Wayne Street from Columbia Street to the St, Joseph
River by constructing; an Overflow sewer as follows,to-wit:-
Beginning at the :riannole at the center o 1 Wayne and Columbia Street thence east n
tl-ie center line of Wayne Street to the St. Joseph River with a 15" inch Vitrified
pipe sewer . ' i)etail drawings,plans,profiles and specifications are on file and may
be seen at the office of said oard and all work in the making; of said public
improvement must'be done in Accordance therewith. Said improvements shall be known
and designated as tale Wayne Street Overflow Sewer from Columbia Street to the St.

from Wayne Street to the South end of said Columbia Street. On Carroll Str-eet from
the north line of the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railway right of way and on
St. Joseph Street from Wayne Street to Bronson Street all of said lot. of land
and parcels of ground abutting on Wayne Street or laterals erupting into said Wayne
Street sewer

Notice of this gesolution shall be published in the south Bend Daily Times on the
21th. day and on the 28th. day of August 1911.. Said Board has fixed the gth. i ay of
-eptember 1911 as €r, date on which remonstrances may be filed or heard by persons intere
-ested or affected by said public improvwments and on said day at 7-15 P.M. said
bosrd will at its said office hear and consider any remonstrator and person interested
or whose property is affected by said public improvements and will decide whether the
benefits that will accrue to the property,abutting and adjacent to the proposed improve
-ments and to said ci.ty,will be equal to ,or exceed the estimated cost of the proposed
impro ements,as estim =.ted by the City Civil Engineer. A Bond or bonds to -be issued
to the contractor in payment of sucfi work where the property owner signes waiver re
required,as according to law. wt1ch se%id bonds shall bear interest at the rate of
s ' x per cent per annum payable as provided by law.

and Maude Birdsall Engnian and waive all notice of assessments under Vacation
Resolution No.11.and pay into the Treasury of the City of South Bend, Indiana. the
sum of Two Hundred and. Twenty five (022.5.00) dollars. The Board hereby declare all
action concluded.
