On May 14, 2019, the Board of Public Works opened and read bids for the above project. During
the review of the bid documents, it was observed that neither Core and Main or Ferguson
Waterworks could provide apprenticeship and training documentation required by the
Responsible Bidder Ordinance. The nature of the bid project is to acquire parts and resources for
the Water Department, rather than services or labors. After review by the City's Legal Department,
it was determined the apprenticeship and training documents are not applicable to this type of
project.
The bidders ranked as follows:
Engineering recommends award of a contract for Ductile Iron Pipes, Valves and Hydrants to
the lowest responsive / responsible bidder, Core and Main LP in the amount of $ 702,159.00.
Sufficient funds have been appropriated from Water Works Operations, 620-0640-606.23.62.
