RE: Alley Vacation — East/West Alley from Fremont St. to N. Olive St. and Half North/South
Alley from Lawton St., South to the East/West Alley (Preliminary Review)
Dear Mr. Jackson:
The Board of Public Works, at its June 11, 2019, meeting, reviewed comments by the Engineering
Division, Area Plan Commission, Community Investment, Fire Department, Police Department,
and the Street Department.
Per IC 36-7-3-13, the Engineering Department, Community Investment, and Fire Department
noted the vacation would hinder the growth or orderly development of the unit or neighborhood
in which it is located or to which it is contiguous, would make access to the lands of the aggrieved
person by means of public way difficult or inconvenient and would hinder the use of a public right
of way by the neighborhood in which it is located or to which it is contiguous.
Therefore, the Board of Public Works submitted an unfavorable recommendation for the vacation
of this alley.
Please contact [donna Hanson at 74 235- 2 4 prior to picidng up your radius 111a . You
will need a radius map showing properties within 150' of the proposed vacation for your petition
to the Common Council. Once you pick up the radius map, proceed to the City Clerk's office for
your alley vacation packet.

339' from west right-of-way of N. Olive St., north of Orange St. and south of
Lawton St., and the North/South alley 14' in width running approx. 120'
from the south right-of-way of Lawton Street to said East/West alley.
