Reselvediby the Board of Public Wf-,rks of the City of South Bend,Indiana.Ithat it is
desired and deemed necessary to make the following described publi;c improvements in the
afordsaid City as authorized by the following numbered improvement resolution adopted
by said Board on April 29th. 1911.
Resolved,,V-iat a-, improver-,,ent be nadeof the kind size-, iocation and terminal points as
follows: Maple Street from Washington to Division Street'! -)by grading and paving the
readway,also grading and paving the intersection alleys laying within said pobtfban of said
Maplefit.not included in the roadway to be paved with Aspholt.Bituli-thieBrick or Creoseted
Wooden Bloeks,,laid on a five (5) inch portland cement gravel foundation2from curb line .to
curb linelplacing the necessary marginal curb.)a-rid curbing the roadway with cement curb
where the st-ane is not, already constructed., also the construction of the necessaryt-.storm
water inlets
s all as shown on plans,and in accordance with profiles.)detail plans and
specifications on file in the office of the Board of Public Works of said Cityand all work
in the maling of said Public improvement must be done in accordance therewith.
Said improvement shall be known and designated as MAPLE STREET PAVEMENT IMPROVEMEJT
Said Board has fixed the 26th. day of May 1911 as a ray upon which remonstrances may be
filed or heard by person,.-, interested or whose property is affected by said public improvenen
and on said daY at 7;15 P.M. said Board will at its said office hear and consider any
revonstraters and persons interested or whose property is affected by said ptblic improvemen
and will decide whether the benefits that will accrue to the property,abutting and adjacent
to the proposed improvement and to said City.will be equal to,or exceed the estimated cost
of; the proposed improvenenis,as estiradted by the City Civil Engineer.
A Bond or Bonds to be issued to the contractor in payment for such work where the propert
ownersimes waiver required.as according to law9wuicli said bonds shall bear interest at the
rate of six per cent per annun.payable as provided by law.
Notice of tnis Resolution shall be publislied on the 6th. and 13th. days of May 1911
in tlie South BendqDaily Times.

Appropriation: All of the above described land is owned by the Chicago and
Indiana Air Line Company and is to be appropriated for the extension of Orange
Street to Birdsell Street and also the extension of Colfax Avenue from Walnut
Street to Birdsell Street all as provided in section sixteen(16) of Ordinanee Number
1214.
T ..e purpose of :such apprepraition is for the extension of Orange Street from
Alley wept of Birdsell St. to Birdsell Street and the extension of Colfax Ave. from
Walnut Street to Birdsell Street.
Notiee of this resolution shall be published on the 6th. day of May and on the l8th.
day of May-1911 n'.the South Bend Daily Times.
Tfis Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 26th, day of May 1911 at 7:15 P.M.
will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or a fected by
these proceedings.
