Bonds and contract for rade, curb and walk on Robinson Street ` under Improvement Resolution No. 926gand sidewalk on Leer Street under Improvemet Resolution No,. 922 signed by H. N. Barnes as Cantractor and Chas. Suabedissen and J�. A. Barnes as sureties 'was presented to the Board for approval. Upon motion Clerk'ftd instructed tohave Bugbee and Sehock verify sureties cm these contracts, and bonds and filed same with�Board Tuesday January 17th., 1922 at 10:00 A.M. Hon. Mayor E. F. Seebirt met with the Board and took up the matter of the advi.sabilty of printing an annual report for 1921, as no report was printed for 11920 it was unanimously decided to let 1920 and 1021 reports go and print yard statistics could be obtained forthese years in 1922 report. Bill of Citizens Homes Company for payment .of sidewalk and curb &Atensins and.pavement intersections in Studebaker Place Addition signed under December 30th.,1921 and referred to this Board by H. A. Tohulkw City Controller for `approval. It was -ordered by this Board that this bill be referred to the City Attorney for ari opinion. The Board instructed Clerk to notifu representative of the Marquette Park Corporation to appear before the Board Tuesday -January l7th1, 1922 at 10:00 A:U; at which time this petition would be discussed`, also Clerk instructed to re4uest City Attorney L2 Wi Hammond to be present: The matter of advertising for hearing on assessment roll and final estimate for pipe sewer on Corby Street from Eddy Street to East line of 3rd. It is hereby resolved b the Board that saif final estimate hnd%-,assesdment roll be published on the 11th. day of January 1922 and on the 18th. day of January 1922 in the South Bend News Times and South Bend Tribune newspapers of general circulation in this City, settip and,fixin the ,-125th. day of January.1922 at 7:15 P.M. at the office of this Board in the City Hall South Bend, Indiana, as the time and place when this Board will receive and hear remonstrances against the amounts assessed a ainst each of the lots and parcels of land on said roll, and will hear and determine whether such lots and parcels of land will be specifically benefitted by said improvement by the amounts stated and set forth in said roll. In the matter of the as_11 of awards of damages and assessments of benefits filed by the City Engineer on December 17th., 1921 for the widening of Turnock Street from Corby Street to South Bend Avenue, under Condemnation Resolutin No. 64 the Board thereupon motion duly made and seeonded and unanimously adopted the 1st. day of March 1922 as day on,whieh this Board will receive or hear remonstrances from persons with regard to the amount of, their respective awards of assessments, and the Clerk of this Board was instructed to prepare and cause to be duly and legally given notice to the owners of each parcel of property,, showing the amount of the assessments or award with a description of the property affected and the date of said hearing. 770 Continued. Offical Bond im the sum of $10000.00 signed by Veronica C. Sweeney, Clerk of the Board and American Surety Company of America as sureties was received and approved by the Board. Pole and Wire Inspector T. H. Beaning reported as follows on poles and wires; Complaint about pole at 1315 E. Calvert Street. Report that this is an Indiana Bell Telephone Company pole and the Telephone Company will have a requisition before the. Board in a few days which will remove this pole entirely. Permission granted to the Indiana Bell Telephone Company to set the follow- ing poles and anchors. To set seven poles in`first alley north of Ewin Avenue from Leer Street to Kline Street, jointly with Indiana & Michigsn'Electr c Company.o To set one pole and on anchor on south side of Ewing Avenue opposite Vernon Street. Placing of underground dip from south side of Ewing Avenue to alley from Clyde Street and Kline Street on Vernon Street between Sampson Street. Place seven poles and five anchors and removal of three LpoleS in alley between Leer Street and Clyde Street, from Indiana Avenue to Calvert Street, jointly with the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company. Placing of eleven poles, two anchors on OZyde-Scree Ufrom Indiana Avenue to Calvert Street. Placing of one pole and two.anehors on Indiana Avenue from Clyde Street for Leer Street. Placing of three poles and two anchors in alley between Indiana Avenue and Dunail Avenue$ from Vernon Street to.Leer Street, jointly. 'lacing of "three poles,. two anchors and removal of one pole in alley between Dubail Avenue and Dayton Street from Vernon Street to Leer Street, Placing of two poles, one anchor, and removal of two poles in alley between Dayton and Randolph Street from Vernone Street to Leer Street. Placing of five -poles and one anchor in alley between Randolph Street and.Calvert Street from Vernon tree to Leer Street, jointly with the Indiana Michigan Electric Company. Placing of one anchor on Leer Street betwee Randolph Street and Calvert Street. Placing of one anchor in.alley between Marine Street and Leer Street from Indiana Avenue to Dubail Avenue. Three poles to move in first alley west of Leer Street from alley South of Haney Avenue..to Dubail Avenue. Board instructed Clerk to purchase two copies of Thorton'p Cities and Towns Rdition for the office of the Board. Clerk instructed' to order subscriptions for the South Bend Tribune for one year from January 1st.1 1922 to January 1st. 1923 and South Bend dews Times, morning edition from February 1st., 1922 to February is t,01923 • It was agreed by the Board that additionalflooringbe allowed to be plare-ed--to replace the old flooring on that part of the seved story in HoseHouse No. 4, where remodeling did not call for a new floor. This flooring to be, of Maple and to cost n& to exceed $430.00. Sack & Marger to put in said flooring. The following claims approved by former Board of Public Works were referred to Board by City Controller H. A. Tohulka and approved of by the Board. John B.
