1. The meeting was called to order by Dr. Mariah Covey at 1800 hours.
2. Minutes from March 2019 were read.
A. Motion to accept the minutes was made by Dr. M. Covey and seconded by Barb Leavell.
3. Ron O'Connor, Director of Finance for Code Enforcement, was introduced to the Board to discuss the 217 Fund
and fund-raising.
A. He discussed how donations are used and accumulated.
B. Explained if donations to SBACC it will go into the account as revenue. General donations are smaller
donations.
C. SBACC doesn't accept donations to or for a specific animal.
4. March 2019 reports were presented by Jenn Gobel.
A. Reports from the years 2014 thru 2019 were discussed also.
B. Goals for the next year were discussed regarding intakes.
C. A volunteer coordinator has been hired by SBACC.
I. The new volunteer coordinator will also be able to write grants and help with the website.
5. Two past cases were discussed.
A. The case regarding Sparda had a Motion to Dismiss filed with a decision made on April 1, 2019.
I. Sparda was euthanized on April 2, 2019.
B. There have been no appeals on the last two hearings as of this date.
6. There were no new Indiana Codes to update the Board on.
Break from 1925-1930 hours.
7. Discussion of the ordinance was held.
A. It was decided that revisions need to be done before more discussion on the ordinance is reviewed by the
Board again.
There were no citizens to speak when it came to privilege of the floor.
9. April 25, 2019 at 1800 hours there will be two hearings.
