On April 23rd, 2019, the Board of Public Works opened and read quotes for the above project.
The bidders ranked as follows:

1.Shambaugh & Son, LP $52,477.25
2. M.E. Simpson Co., Inc. $53,851.00
The number of hydrants quoted was based on the total number of hydrants in our system,
including private hydrants. After receiving and reviewing quotes, it was determined by Water
Works and the Fire Department that we only need to test public hydrants, not private. This will
significantly decrease the number of hydrants that need to be tested. The number that was
quoted was 1,099, and the number we will need to test will be 782. The Legal Department
recommended re -quoting this project since that is a significant change, and could affect the unit
prices.
Engineering recommends rejecting all quotes and re -quoting the project with the
decreased number of hydrants.
