DORAU Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities, University of Notre Dame And PARTNER Internship Placement Agreement This Internship Placement Agreement (the "Agreement") is entered into by the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities ("LEO"), University of Notre Dame, and the PARTNER ("Partner Agency"), for the purpose of outlining the joint and separate responsibilities between LEO and the Partner as they relate to providing internship work experiences for an undergraduate LEO employee (the "student"). I. Purpose The purpose of this agreement is to outline a mutually beneficial internship placement arrangement between the parties. The internship placement will provide the Partner Agency with a valuable resource to increase its capacity to engage in evidence -building activities, while also providing the student with a valuable internship experience. The Parties agree to the specific commitments outlined below. II. Goals for the Internship Placement a. Facilitate the development of or contribute towards the ongoing implementation of an active LEO Project at the Partner Agency; b. Increase the Partner Agency's capacity to engage in evidence -building activities; and c. Provide the student with a valuable internship experience working with an innovative social service agency that is a partner of LEO. III. LEO agrees to: a. Identify, interview and hire qualified undergraduate candidates for the internship position. b. Provide the agency, prior to placement, relevant information about the student's academic achievement and previous work experience. c. Provide initial training and orientation to the student related to LEO's work, statistical software, human subjects research protocols and other materials prior to the student working on site with the Partner. d. Work with the Partner to identify specific tasks, within the larger scope of a LEO project or capacity -building activity, for the student to complete during the summer. i. This will include participating in at least one introductory planning call with the staff person who will act as a supervisor/mentor for the student (the "Partner Agency Supervisor") prior to the beginning of the placement period. e. Provide an intern supervisor at LEO who will check -in at least weekly with both the student and the student's supervisor at the Partner Agency throughout the placement period. IV. PARTNER agrees to: a. Identify a Partner Agency Supervisor who will act as the supervisor/mentor for the student. The Partner Agency Supervisor will also act as the lead contact between the Partner and LEO on all matters related to the internship placement. This person should be working in some capacity on an active LEO project or capacity -building activity, and should have capacity to meet with the student once per week to check -in on student's work. b. Prior to the beginning of the placement period, work with LEO to agree upon specific tasks, within the larger scope of a LEO project or capacity -building activity, for the student to complete during the summer. i. This will include participating in at least one introductory planning call with LEO prior to the beginning of the placement period. c. Provide feedback on student's performance and experience, at the mid -point of the internship, as well as at the conclusion of the internship. d. Provide a designated place for the student to work at the partner agency's site, as well as procure access to any agency resources (e.g. laptop, drive access, agency e-mail account, database access, etc.) necessary for the student to fulfill their responsibilities. LEO will be responsible for any costs associated with the procurement of resources for the student intern. e. Incorporate student into a team in order to provide a supportive and collaborative learning environment and the experience of being part of a team. V. Funding of the Internship LEO will provide all funding for the student's time and efforts during the placement period. The Partner Agency will not be expected to provide any additional funding for the student's time or efforts. LEO will work directly with the student to make arrangements related to payment. LEO will also provide funding to procure any computing equipment, background checks, database access fees, software licenses or other resources necessary for the student to fulfill their responsibilities. VI. Length of Internship Placement The placement period will last 10 weeks, unless LEO and the Partner Agency mutually agree to lengthen or reduce the placement period LEO and the Partner Agency will work together to determine the exact starting and ending dates for the internship..
