South Bend, Ind. ° > Gentlemen:- > We have checked the owners of Property alon� the proposed South Main St. improvements 4xtending from Indiana Ave. to Ewing venue., and find that there are 30 resident.f>reeholders;and 18 resident land contract holders on the street. Of the, 30 freeholders 3 have si ned, the petition. The remonstrance contains 14 re ident freeholders signatures and 9 land contract signatur`es. ° There °dare some joint°deeds where the wives did not sign the remonstrance, but .if the Board wishes.to consider them as opposed to the improvement, the vote will stand twelve --for and eighteen against the - improvement. Property owner by the name of F. V..Mow of 1910 South Michigan Street appeared befo.re.the Board and complained that no sewer tap was to be _found at 1910 South Michiggaann Street. The Board instructed the City Street Commissioner to have the Street1 epartment look for sewer.tap at this location and report on same to the Board ;at next regular meeting. The following resolution e;dohted; STREET OR ALLEY IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 888 Be It Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend; St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, that it is desired and deemed necessary to im- pprove the roadway of the Sample Street Bridge, the roadway of the Jefferson Street Bridge, the roadway of the North Michigan Street Bridge and the roadway of the East Colfax Avenue Bridge over the East Race as -follows, to -wit: The roadway of the Bridge shall be resurfaced the material to be used in making said improvement shall,be Sheet Asphalt, Bitulithic;°Asphaltic concrete or brick , and the foundation shall be the present ooncrete foundation for the Sample Street Bridge, Jefferson Street Bridge and the North Michigan Street Bridge and the present brick pavement for the East Colfax Avenue Bridge over the east Race; all manhole tops and storm water inlets shall be set.to the proper grade, cement marginal curb shall be constructed where necessary, all as is more particular)y shown and all in accordance with the plains profiles and detail drawings nn file in the o ffice of the Department of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
