Dear Sir Pursuant to the suggestion made at the time of thehearing , Wednesday evenin�z March qqth 1921, with reference to the g Are..,Cgarles Af�noi� proposed'Widening of, Ewin Avenue my client, has discussed the matter (f his assessment on the property located on the north-east corner of Ewing Avenue and Miami Street which we remonstrated against, and we have decided to make the following offer of com- promise, however, not to be bound by any representations in this offer in case the same is accepted, we offer to accept the assessment of benefits in the summof $500.00 provided the City will furnish the following free of cost to us* Extend the Miami Street curb to the proposed Ewing avenue and put the return curb to the sidewalk line on Ewing Avenue ro is customary, but tear up such part of the return pavement off of Miami Street on the present Ewing A venue as will come upon our 29 feet: To extend the present Miami Street sidewalk to the proposed Ewing Avenue and to furnish us with a sewer water t14p inside the curb line off of Miami Street and vacate to us the 29 feet in question. In connection with the sewer water tap, I wish to state, from a measurement of the street lines proposed we believe that the street drain on the north side -of the present Ewin Avenue will come within the to us and that this street dram will be within the curb linerof®Miami 9Streetvppro- jected and would required no extra work to make tt a,sewer to for this property Also, the water mains which run from Miami Stree y of Ewing -Avenue, will when this pp t along the south side to us. George M. Witwer appeared before the Board in regard to the condition of the Jefferson Street Bradge pavement. Be It Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, that it is desired and deemed necessary to improve Sarin„Street from Emerick Street to Neddo Court as follows, towitt- Said Street shall be graded and the rdadway thereof shall be paved; and also the roadway of ertain'portions of the -streets and°sileys°which enter or intersect said street shall be grade and paved.
