Honorable Board of PW is Works South Bend, Indiana. •,e " s Gentlemen: - Some time ago I represented in person to Mr. Elliott, in behalf of Mr. Edward Ebel, , injured employe of the Street Department, the question of payment of some sum by the City of South Bend to this main to aid in his care and sustenance. Mr, Elliott, I appreciate, is a busy man and I offer no word of 6ristism for neglect to give this attention heretofore, yet I am at a loss to know :what to report to my clients, in view of .promises made to them several weeks ago that Mr. Elliott and Mr. Slick would be out to see Mr. Ebel, amd make an investi- ge.t ion as to his permanent disability. I believe the case is one 'which desrves some attention by your Board, which, in my judgement, will bring about a payment to Mr. Ebel, if for no other than humanitary reasons. The old man is completely disabled, and has not been out of bed since receiving his injuries. Your records will show that you have stopped payment of his edmepnsat ion, and since that time he has been absolutely neglected. I am wondering If I cannot get the Board to co-operate with me in g iv ing this matter special attention at a early date. Thanking you for your many a ourtes i-s in the past, 2 am, Yours very respectfully, CAR -AH: CHAS A. HA-ERTY. PILED DEC. 1,1920. BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. By Ga A. Elliott, President.
