Huron Street to Sample Street under Improvement Resolution No. 828. In the City of South Bend, Indiana, o Upon saddhearing remonstrators appeared but no written remonstrance was filed. �he property owners remonstrated against putting in sewer at high costs. This Board after due consideration decided to defer actlon on same until Wednesday September 1st.,1920 at 7:15 P.M. Hearing had on improvement resolution No. 831 for grade., curb and walk on Wayne Street from St. Louis Blvd. to the 1st. alley west of St. Louis Blvd.. in the City of South Bend, Indiana. Upon said hearing ° a remonst°raator appeared but no written remonstrance was filed, And the Board being fully advised in the promises, decides that the benefit s to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated cost of the sane, as reported by the City Civil Engineer,, and thereupon takes final action on said res glut ion as modified. Modified to eliminate walk on south side of Wayne Street and to include grade from poperty line to property line and as modified c onf irmed. Resolved further, that notices be published on the 2nd-. day of September and on the 9th. day of September 1920.' in the' South Bend Daily Tribune, a newspaper of general Circulation in said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvements up to 10:)0 A.M. on the 21st, day of September 1920 &1 The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Hearing had on resolution for Pipe sewer on Werwinski Street from College Street to Wilber Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 830. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances were filed.* And the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated cost of the same as reported by the City Civil Engin aer, andthereupon - takes final action on said resolution as originally adopted, and the same is hereby in all things, ratified confirmed and approved: Resolved further, )that notices be published on the 2nd. day of September 1920 and on the 9th. day ofSeptember 1920 in- the South Bend Daily Tribune a newspaper of general circulation in` saki City, stating that this Board will x.ece ive bids he construction construction of said improvement up to 10:00 A.M. on the 21st. day of September 1.920. Resolved furth r, that notices be published on the 2nd. day of September 1920 and on the 9th. day of September 1920 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation in this City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on the alst. day of September 1920. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Board ordered a resolution prepared on petition for sewer on Hill Street from Corby Street to Howard Street. Wednesday August 25th. ,1920. continued. Propety owners appeared and requested the Board that the lst. alley East ,of Fellows Street from .Indiana Avenue to Haney Avenue be graded, Petition filed and resolution ordered on same. Petition filed for concrete pa -Cement on alley extending from Park Avenue to Forest Avenue denied.by the Board. Petition filed for pipe sewer on Fox Street from Michigan street to St. 'Joseph Street. Resolution ordered on same. The following communication was orderdd sent to the White Construction. Company. The White Construction: Company, ° Chicago, Ill. Gentlemen: w Attention:- M. E. White. On July loth. ,1919 your Company was awarded a contract for the pav ing of Sample Street from Walnut Street to Olive Street in this City. On May 21st. 1920 your Company filed a petition with the Board asking for a release from this con- tract, and on July 14th. , 1920 a hearing was had on said petition and the same was over -ruled, and the off is ial 'not ice was sent Vou to complete the Sample Street contract under date of July lath., 1920. We are now informed that the Street Railway Company are ready to pro- ceed with the work of installing its tracks on Sample Street and this Board desired now to notify you, that your part. of the work under your contract must be commenced immediately.
