Mr. Irish of the Revs --Times Printing, Company granted permission by
the Board to erect a permanent awning in the let. alley west of -Main Street. The erection
of said awn;ing,to be ;under the supervision of the. Building amd tb�be erected as he
d irects .
Mr. Schreyer a, -,peered before the Board in regard to resurfacing Of
lat. alley north of Navarre Street running from Main Street to Lafayette Blvd. Granted
permision to repair, same.
Attorney Arthur G ill iom appeared before the. Board representing the
South Band Motor Bus Company in regard . to franchise for- operat ion of motor bus on ` City
Streets.- Same deferred until Wednesday aeptembar 2 rnd.1920, at 7:15 P.M.

Board ordered a light *ith red globe placed . at end of Arc h Avenue
and Monroe Street next to the river.
Whitcomb and Keller &peered before the Board iL regard to drainage
at Monroe Street. Street Commissioner ordered to take care of drainage at end of
Monroe Street as per plans and specficistions of the City Engineer.

Proceedings are pending. before the Board of Commissioners of the County of St.
Joseph for the improvement of a certain highway in St. Joseph Countyknown on the road_ map
as House Read but, commonly'known as the Donmoyer .Road or . Dunmoyer Avenue, It is proposed
by these proceedings to improve the same by grad*ing , draining and surtac ing From the,
Michigan Road to the Turkey Creek road.
,As part of this improvement lies within the corporate limits of the City of
I South Bend it is necessary to have your consent to such improvement.. '
There are also proceedings pending before the Board of Commiss ioners < For the
improvement of the Jefferson Highway from the ` end of the pavement in South Bend, that is,
of the pave"at now under construction, east to the Penn Township line, the improvement w,11-1.
consist of grading, draining and hard surfacing the highway.
As part of this improvement lies within the corporate limits of the City of
South Bend it will be necessary to. have your consent before this improvement can be
made.
If these two improvements meet with your approval will you kindly signify the
same by the appropriate res_clutien ande send separate. certified copies of such; resolutions to
Clarence. Sedgwick, County Auditor.
