Deferred hearing had on resolution for pavement on Leer Street
and Fox Street under Improvement Resolution= No. 635, In the above mattet no
remonstrators appeared and no further written remonstrance wqs filed. The Board
decided to defer all action on said resolution until Wednesday August 20th.,1919
at 7:15 P.M.
Deferred hearing had on resolution for pavement on 11arine Street
from Indiana Avenue to Calvert Street, under improvement -Rosolut ion No. 633. .
In the above matter remonstratore appeared but no written remonstrance was f it ed.
The Beard after due cans iderat ion decided to defer hearing on said res olut ion
until Wednesday August lath. ,1919 at 7:15 P.M.
Hearing had on resolution for pavement an Linden Street from
Anthony Street to -Walnut Street, under Improvement Resolution-Na. 678. In the
City of South Bend, Indiana.`
Upon saidhearing no remonstraters appeared and no written re-
monstrance Was filed. And the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides
that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are
equal to the estimated cost of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer,
and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as originally adopted,- and
the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.
Resolved further, that notices be published on the 218t. day of
June 1919 and on the 28th. , day of June 1919 in the South Bend Daily Tribune,
to said City, stating that this Beard will receive bids for the construction
of said improvements up to 10:00 A.M, on the 8th., 'day of July 1919. The Beard
reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

remonstrance was filed. The Board_ therefore find that..the, property assessed in the

on said assessment roll and .the Board further find that the assessment. roll filed

Concerning the improvement of the roadway of Bartlett Street
from. Michigan Street to Lafayette -Boulevard with asphalt, asphaltic concrete, bitulithic
or brick pursuance t res olut ion No. 66B the Board on the 17th. , day of June 1919 at
10: 00 A.M. publicly opened and read and considered all bids and then continued
their meeting to the 18th., day of June 1919 at- 7:15 P.M.
Now on last named date the Board designated Trinidad Lake
Asphaltic concrete as the kind of pavement with which the said street is. to be improve`
and fixes the 30th. , day of June 1919 at 10: 00 A.M. as the time when petitions for chase*
the kind of pavement must be filed and the Board hereby continues this matter until the-
lat. day of .,July 1919 at 10:00 A.M. On the day above named the Board will either
pass on petitions, let said contract or reject all bids.

Into the St. Joseph River appeared before the Board and requested and urged the Board
to have this outlet submerged , stat irg that as - it now Is, it is a nuisance and very
unsanitary. Thane property owners referred to a number of petitions that had. been
filed in the past and no attention had been given this matter. The Board advised
these property owners that they would instruct the City Engineer -to have plan drawn
and figures submitted for the submerging of this outlet into the river,
Guarantee bond of the Brookf ie ld Street pipe sewer filed by
Staples & Ackerman, same approved by the Board.
Contractors bond for $10000.00 of Peter Miller approved by the
Board.
Property owners res id ing on Haney $venue between Michigan St.
and High Street appeared before the Board and presented written petition requesting they
paving of Haney Avenue from Michigan Street to High Street immediately. Same read and
plued- on file,
