AMENDMENT TO OWNER -ENGINEER AGREEMENT Amendment No. 1. 1. Background Data: a. Effective Date of Owner -Engineer Agreement: 04-11-2017 b. Owner: Department of Public Works, City of South Bend, Indiana C. Engineer: Jones Petrie Rafinski Corporation (JPR) d. Project: Downtown East-West Streetscape (NO. 117-041) 2. Description of Modifications: [NOTE TO USER: Include the following paragraphs that are appropriate and delete those not applicable to this amendment. Refer to paragraph numbers used in the Agreement or a previous amendment for clarity with respect to the modifications to be made. Use paragraph numbers in this document for ease of reference herein and in future correspondence or amendments.] a. Engineer shall perform or furnish the following Additional Services: The initial project scope for the Downtown East-West Streetscape Phase 1 project was to consist of surface design of pavement and sidewalks, reconfigure approach to the LaSalle Apartment parking lot, maintain existing curbs in place and to close identified existing vaults. During the design process the following items have been added to the initial project scope: 1) Colfax Avenue & North Michigan Street: - Remove & replace protions of curbs; - Curb bump -outs were added to the project to provide additional pedestrian crossing safety (adding to curb/curb ramp/spont elevations/storm sewer/maintenance of traffic design & utility coordination. - Maintian some vaults in place, involving need for ground penetrating radar work and full time JPR inspection of vaults, design of sidewalk reconstruction details over vaults, and building access & pedestrian traffic contingencies: - Pavement cores for mill & rsurface design & considering curb reveal; - Material changes to intersection pavement; - Addition of small diameter storm sewer collection system within Colfax Avenue for future roof drain connections. All rights reserved. needs, required additional survey of structure inverts, interior roof drain investigation, and added profile view requirements to plan drawings; Incorporated the remoal of cantilever sign structures within the downtown area. 2) North Michigan Street - Initial design of North Michigan Street between LaSalle Avenue and Colfax Avenue was expanded during the design process to include an extensive plaa design from the face of the Morriss Performing Arts Center to the west side of the John Hunt Plaza Fountain. This required additional meetings with the City of South Bend Engineering Department, Community Investments, and Venues, Parks and Arts to ensure that the overall design met the needs of the various anticipated program activities that the City holds. The work also required additional plan changes to the overall layout, decorative hardscape materials and features, landscaping, and lighting /power services Additional design work and revisions to the plaza area and vehicular circulation adjacent of the LaSalle Apartment development. Changes of the roadway profile grading requiring additional spot elevations designs, new storm sewer contingencies, and variantions to the maintenance of traffic plans in order to carefully coordinate wit the Morris Performing Arts Center schedule; Reconfiguration of the traffic signal roadway detection system. b. The Scope of Services currently authorized to be performed by Engineer in accordance with the Agreement and previous amendments, if any, is modified as follows: c. The responsibilities of Owner are modified as follows: d. For the Additional Services or the modifications to services set forth above, Owner shall pay Engineer the following additional or modified compensation: 1) Construction Documents $14,250.00 2) Construction Services $ 5,625.00 3) Pavement Cores and GPR $ 4,319.00 a) Pavement cores for roadway $2,917.00 b) Pavement cores for vault caps $1,402.00 4) Total Additional Services Request $24,194.00 e.
