The Board by unanimous c onsent ordered bids on Huron Street from Meade Street to alley East of Kosciusko Street rejected and resolution reek nded and, instructed City Engineer to prepare new resolution. The following preliminary orders were made by the Board. Concern nd the improvement of the roadway of Alley east of Michigan Street from Division Street to Branson Street with asphalt, asphaltic concrete, bitulithic, or brick, in pursuance to resolution No.� 648 the Board on the 27th.9 day of May 1919 at 10:00 A.M. publicly opened, and read and consid3red all bids and then continued their meeting to the 28th', day of May 1919 at 7:15 P.M, and then c ont taued the it meet ing unt i1 May 3 lot . ,1919 it 10 : 00 A.M. Nowon last named date the Board designated concrete as the kind of ,pavement with which said street is to be paved and fixes the 12th., day of June 1919 at 10:00 A.M. as the time when petitions for charting the kind of pavement must be filed, and the Beard hereby c ont inues this matter unt it ;the 17th. , day of June 1919-at 10:00 A.M. Dated this3lot. , day, of May 1919, o In regard to the -awarding of the contract for the Madison Street Trunk sewer, the same was deferred until Tuesday June 3rd.,1919 at 10:00 A.M -Mr., Chas. E. StarrCity Electrician appeared before the Board in regard to machne, for use of inspection. The Board agreed to recommend an increase in salary if he would purchase a conveyance and maintain same.,this being agreeable to Mr. Starr if the .Board would recommend the increase to Eighteen.. Hundred ($l,$880.0 per year. The same was agreed upon by the Board. The Beard ordered .a resolution for _grade, curb and walk-1-Improvement on Walnut Street from Sample Street to Prairie Avenue. .-The matter of awarding contract on the bid submitted Tuesday for garbage disposal was defeaded .until Tuesday June a3rd.,1919 at 10:00 A.M. The Board allowed the Visiting Nurses Association to put a small sign on the C ity's house. The Board ordered the following lights placed. 90 C. P. lights on light pole at the alley about 150 feet south of Div is ion Street on the east side of Jackson Street. 80 C. P. light at foot of Wayne Street in Howard Peak, 80 C. P. light at Portage Court between Ashland Avenue and Portage Avenue 80 C. Complaint received from property owner res id ing at 1114 South Carroll Street aboVt a pole in the way of new pavement, the Board ordered notice sent to the Ind iena & Michigan Elec. Co. is trench through curb and replace the not pole and curb will be replaced when other curb is built. Complaitt received from proper owner -at 535 Riverside Drive about a pole which stands in the way of drive into a garage. The Board ordered notice send to the Central Union Tel. Company to reset this pole to the south to the property line between the two lots or to the north to the pr-operty line Notice received from Aetna Casualty & Insruaene Company of the renewal of Harvey L.
