No remonstrators against pavement.) {Property Owners present, residing ,on said street requested the Board to see if the Street car could be but in ahead of pavement improvement, Mr. R . -R. Smith being present on another hearing., wss. requested w explain to property owners about street car conditions. Mr. Smith stated his c ompanyl s c and it ion and said he could not see anyway -possible of getting ahis ' extension at this time or even neat year on account of the f inane ial c and it ion of his company. Mr. Bonds requested that all underground Work be put in ahead of pavement improvement also Mr. C. Hyde. The Board informed the property Owner street car tracks could not be put in if street was to be paved this year. Property where agreeable to have street paved. ). And the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of the same, as reported by the City C iv i1 Eng ineer s and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as or ig inally adopted and the same is hereby in all things bat if ied, a onf irmed and approved. Resolved further, that notices be published on the lath., day of May 1919 , and on the 24th. , day of May 1919 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will receive bids for the c onstruct icy of said improvements up to 10: 00 A.M. on the 3rd . day of June 1919. ' 661 for the pavement on first ,'a11ey cast of Carroll Street from Wayne Street to Division Street, in the City of South Bend, Indiana. Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance was filed. And the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated cost'of the ame, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as originally adopted, and the same is hereby in all things 'ratified, confirmed and approved. Resolved further, that notices be published on the 17th. day of May 1919.' and on the 24th., day of May 1919 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, in said City, stating that this Board Will receive bids to fair the construction of said improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on the 3rd. day of June 1919. The Board reserves- the right to.reject any and all bids. This. being the date set for the deferred hearing on resolution for the paving of Marine Street, remonstrators appeared and the Board after due c ons iderat ion decided to defer this hearing until Wednesday Juice 18th. ,1919. at 7:15 P.M. This being the date set for the deferred hearing on resolution for the paving of Leer Street and Fox Street. Remonstiat©rs appeared, but no further Written remonstrance filed. The Board after due consideration decided to defer all action. on said resolution until Wednesday June 18th. ,1919 at 7:15 P.M. Property owners res id ing on South Michigan Street met with the Board and took up the .matter of improving South Michigan Street with a pavement and sewer, The Beard adv is ed said property owners to meat With them May 28th.. ,1919, at 7:15 - P. M. Petition received for sewer, water and pavement on Division Street, $,&me presented by Councilman Bailey. The Board referred said petition to the City C iv it Engineer to have same verified as to the correctness of the 80% petition. And report the same to the Board. Concerning the improvement of the roadway of South Bend Avenue from Eddy Street to East city Limits, With asphalt, asphaltic concrete, bitulithic, or Bricks in pursuance t:o resolution No 622 the Board on the 13th.9 day of May 1919 publicly opened and read and considered all bids and then c ont inued hhe it meeting , to the 14th. , day of May 1 ` 19 at 7:15 P.M. Now on last named date the Board designated Asphaltic concrete as the kind of pavement With which said street is to be improved and fines the 26th., day of May 1919 at 10: 00 A.M. as the time Who petit ions for changing the kind of pavement must be filed, and the Board hereby continues this matter until the 27th., day of May 1919 at .10: 00 A.M. on the day above named the Board will either pass on petitions let said contract or reject all bids. The following resolutions Were adopted by the Board. LOCAL SEWER IMPROVEIdENT RESOLUTION NO. 673. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, County of St. Joseph, State of Indiana, That the construction of a local sewer, in- tended and adapted only for local use by the property holders whose property abuts thereon, and not intended or adapted for receiving sewerage from collateral drains, be and the same is, hereby ordered in and along Corby Street and St. Louis Street from Notre Dame Avenue to Howard Street as follows, towit: - Bag inning at the Inter- section of the center line of Corby Street at a point 5 feet east of the east rail of the center line of Corby Street to the center line of St. Peter Street With an 18 Inch v itr if ied pipe sewer; thence still West along the center line of Coru)r Street to the center of St. Louis Street With a 15 inch vitrified pipe sewer; thence north along the center line of St. Louis Street to a point 66 feet south .of the south line of Howard Street with a 12 inch vitrified pipe sewer; together with the necessary manholes, storm Water inlets, c ondu its, flush tank and house connections to the curb line along the tine of said improvement, all as is more particularly shown and all in accordance with the plans, profiles, detail drawings and specifications on File in the office of the Department of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana. 0 67 and said sewer, with all its appurtenances shall be constructed in accordance with the profile and speciflcationd now on Mein- the orrice of thr, Department of Pu611c'Worlts of said City.
