RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION ADOPTING
A POLICY WITH RESPECT TO THE ACQUISITION OF REAL ESTATE IN THE
CENTRAL DOWNTOWN URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT, IND. R -66 AND ALL OTHER
URBAN RENEWAL PROJECTS
ction 402 of the Housing Act of 1965 requires that Local Public Agencies
ertain policies in respect to the acquisition of property located in
al projects; and
WHEREAS, tile Department of Housing and Urban Development's Proclaimer procedure
requires that Local Public Agencies develop and adopt their own comprehensive
statement of policy and procedures consistent with HUD policies and procedures
and applicable statutes governing acquisition of property for urban renewal;
and
WHEREAS, tile City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment is presently en-
gaged in a Federally assisted urban renewal project, to -wit: Central Downtown
Urban Renewal Project, Ind. R -66 and will be in the future be acquiring properties
both Federally and non - Federally assisted urban renewal projects.
NOW THEREF RE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, GOVERNING
BODY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT that the certain com-
prehensive policy statement made a part hereof in total by reference be and the
same is hereby approved and adopted as the operating policy for the acquisition
of real estate in the above named urban renewal project and all other urban re-
newal proj cts now in effect or which may come into being as said policy may
be revised from time to time.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution and statement be filed
with the Department of Housing and Urban Development and that a copy be filed
with the City Clerk of the City of South Bend and that a copy of the policy
be recorded in the official records of the County of St. Joseph.
