The hearing was called to order by hearing officer Ann Carrol Nash, Hearing Officer at 1810 hours.
A. Hearing regarding Habitual Animal Offender residing at 1311 Dayton Street, South Bend.
B. Respondents did not appear.
C. Case Number 2018-05 needs a modification since decision in January 2019.
D. Have received another violation on January of 2019, which would make respondent in violation
of decision of January 2019.
Service was made and accepted by Hearing Officer.
Tom Panowicz called Jen Gobel to give testimony regarding the Citations and AWA's.
A. After the decision of January 2019, a bite report was received regarding animals at this address.
B. The dog in question has had three (3) previous bites that have been reported.
C. Respondent's daughter moved two (2) dogs into the residence.
I . One January 24, 2019 two dogs were seized from the residence.
2. One of which was the dog being harbored at this address and had bitten a citizen.
3. One dog was euthanized due to so many bite cases.
4. Puppy from this address has not been claimed.
South Bend Animal Care and Control asking for the dog to be confiscated and the Respondent be issued
a lifetime ban on ownership.
City rested their case at this time.
A vote was taken at this time for a lifetime prohibition regarding the Respondent.
A. The vote was unanimous for lifetime prohibition.
Hearing Adjourned at 2200 hours.
