HomeMy WebLinkAboutNo. 0487 authorizing submission of amendatory application for code enforcement grant, project IN E-3 for the purpose of increasing the amount of project grantRESOLUTION NO. 487 RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF AMENDATORY APPLICATION FOR CODE ENFORCEMENT GRANT, PROJECT INDIANA E -3 FOR THE PURPOSE OF INCREASING THE AMOUNT OF PROJECT GRANT WHEREAS, the City of South Bend is engaged in the carrying out of a Federally assisted Code Enforcement Project as authorized under Section 117 of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended and specifically authorized by a contract between the City of South Bend and the Department of Housing and Urban Development dated February 14, 1972; and WHEREAS, the City of South Bend Department of Redevelopment is the Administrative agency of the City of South Bend duly authorized to administer and carry out the Code Enforcement program for the City, to prepare budgets and to requisition funds and act as correspondent for the City; and WHEREAS, in complying with state law regarding the relocation of persons due to governmental activities it was necessary to make relocation payments in excess of the approved budget, and WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has acknowledged that such relocation payments made as referred to the above paragraph are eligible project cost; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT, THAT The executive Director of the Department of Redevelopment is hereby authorized and directed to submit an amendatory application for j Code Enforcement Grant for the purpose of budgeting and receiving funds to pay for the relocation of persons as to the extent that the cost exceeds the lastest approved budget.
