RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT
COMMISSION, GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, DEPAM!ME ]T OF REDEVELOPMENT,
EXPRESSING ITS DESIRE TO REFRAIN FROM THE
CONSIDERATION OF REQUESTS TOR SUPPORT OF TAX
ABATEMENT PETITIONS PENDING THE ESTABLISHMENT
OF LOCAL PROCEDURES AND STANDARDS.
WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Indiana permit the designation of
certain areas as Urban Development Areas for purposes of I.C. §6 -1.1- 12.1 -1
through I.C. §6- 1.1- 12.1 -6 inclusive; and,
WHEREAS, it has become local practice for the Redevelopment
ILCommission to consider and recommend such designations to the Common Council
of the City of South Bend; and,
.WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission now finds that petitions for
Urban Development Area Designations can be better considered through the
establishment of local standards and procedures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Redevelopment Commission,
City of South Bend, Indiana expresses its desire to refrain from the considera-
tion and recommendation of Urban Development Area Designations for purposes of
I.C. §6- 1.1- 12.1 -1 through I.C. §6- 1.1- 12.1 -6 inclusive until such time as
appropriate local standards and procedures have been established.
Adopted at the Regular Meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment
Commission held on the 7th Day of December 1979, in the Office of the Commis-
sion, Room 1200, County -City Building, 227 West Jefferson Boulevard, South
Bend, Indiana.
