RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT
COMMISSION ACCEPTING A DEED FROM SOUTH
BEND COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION FOR REAL
PROPERTY IN MONROE PARK
WHEREAS, South Bend Community School Corporation has
heretofore resolved that the real property owned by it and commonly
known as the Franklin School site, located at 850 Clinton Street,
South Bend, Indiana, is no longer needed for school purposes and
shall be sold in accordance with the provisions of Indiana law; and
WHEREAS, the north 1.65 acres of the Franklin School site
was advertised for sale in accordance with the provisions of Indiana
law and bids were solicited for its sale but no bids were received
which were in an amount equal to ninety percent (90 %) of the
appraised value of said property; and
WHEREAS, the South Bend Redevelopment Commission has
offered to purchase the north 1.65 acres of the Franklin School site
and to pay an amount in excess of the South Bend Community School
Corporation's appraised value and a Superintendent's hearing has
been held pursuant to the provisions of law and determination has
been made by the Superintendent that the property should be
transferred to the City of South Bend Department of Redevelopment;
and
WHEREAS, the public hearing conducted by the
Superintendent having been concluded without objections having been
made and the recommendation of the Superintendent that the north
1.65 acres of the Franklin School site be sold to the City of South
Bend through its Department of Redevelopment for the sum of
Seventeen Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy -five ($17,975.00) Dollars
having been accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the South Bend
Redevelopment Commission that the deed from South Bend Community
School Corporation for the north 1.65 acres of the Franklin School

site, located at 850 Clinton Street, South Bend, Indiana, more
Cr particularly described as Lots Numbered 124, 125, 126, 127, 128,
129, 130, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 137, and also the vacated north -
south alley between Lots Numbered 124 -130 and 132 -137, inclusive,
all in Edward H. Rush's First Addition in the City of South Bend,
Indiana, as recorded in Plat Book 7, Page 8, in the Office of the
Recordeer of St. Joseph County, Indiana, be accepted by the City of
South Bend for the use and benefit of its Department of

Redevelopment.
