I acknowledge receopt of your favor of the 16th., concerning Grand
Trunk Tracks on Division Stizeet, and I have asked Mr. Whittenberber, lax General
Manager *f the Grand Trunk Western and his engineer, Mr. Irving to attend your
meeting on the 29th. , inst. , if you conckude •to hold the Meeting at that date.
The policy of . the -Rail read ,Administrat ion is to defer at this time all
improvements and changes that are .not •of the utmost necessariSy in connection with
the operation of the property,• -and therefore from the -Administration's standpoint I
would urge upon you -that -this -matter be put over for the time being. Mr. Kelley
will doubtless write you concerning the attidudo of the Corporate Company.

a view of proper repair of the present Tary is pavements in South Bend; That itemized
expenses of each of the above be submitted to the Board and refunds made upon presentation
of statements of expenses.
