Board met inregular session at 7:15 P.M. Mr. G. A. Elliott
absent. Mr. H. F. Rost iser, Vice .President of the Board Acting President,
Mr.. F:: J. Anderson, City -Civil Engineer absent: Mr.-W. E. Graves, Assistant City
Engineer present.
Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 595 for pavement on
Haney Avenue from Michigan Street 'to High Street, in the City of South Bend,
Inds ans.
Upon said hearing property owners appeared and objected -to the
present curb being .taken out. and objected; to combination curb and gutter. No
written remonstrance filed. And. the Board being fully advised in the premises
decides that the bone its to propaerty-liable to be assessed for said impro-'*4.ent
are equal to the estimated cost of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer,
and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as modified. Present curb to
remain in, comb inat ion curb and gutter to be eliminated from resolution abd specifi-
cations: -.and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved
as modified.
Resolved further, that notices be published on the 28th.9 day of
February 1919 and on the 7th., day of March 1919 in the South Bend Daily Tribune,
in said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said
improvements up'to 10:00 A.M. on the 25th., day of -March 1919. The Board reserves
the right to reject" any and all bids*
Hearing given on Improvement Resolution No. 596 for the pavement
of lst. alley east of Carroll Street from Mornoe Street to South Street and the 1st.
alley south of Monroe Street from Carroll Street to Columbia Street, in the City
of South Bend, Indiana.
Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared -and written remonstrance
filed January 7th. ,1919 was considered. Remonstrance being against the pavement of
alley ea&t of Carroll Streeb from Monroe Street to South Street. In written
remonstrance filed, there being a number less than the majority of the resident
freeholders whohave signed the remonstrance, the Board now over -ruled said written
remonstrance and being- fully' advised in the preaahses, dec ides that the benefits to
property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated
cost f the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final
action on said - resolution as orlganally adopted; and thesame is hereby in all things
ratified, _conformed and approved.
..Resolved further, that notices be published on the 28th., day of
February 1919 and on the 7th.0 day of March 1919 in the South Bend 'tribune,
in said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of
said improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on the 25th., day of March 1919. The Board -
reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
Hearing given on Improvement Resolution No. 602 for the pavement
of Elder Street from Michigan Street to Carroll Street and Carroll Street from
North line of Elder Street ti the north line of Wenger Street, in the Cityof South
Bend, Indiana.
Upon said hearing property owners appeared and o1jjeeted to the
present curb being removed, and objected to c omb inat ion curb and gutter being
constructed, no written remonstrance filed. And the Board being fully advised on
the premises, decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said
improvements are equal to the estimated cost of the same, as reported by the
City Civil Egineer , and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as
modified:- Said resolution to read present curb to remain, combination gurb and
gutter to be eliminated. And the same is hereity in all things, ratified, conirmed
-and approved as mod if ied.

Walnut Street from Ford Street to a point 230 feet north of the north line of Ford
Street, in the City of South Bend, Indiana,
Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance
was filed. And the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides that the ebenf its
to the property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated
cost of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final
action on said resolution as originally adopted, and the same is hereby in all things,
raf if ied, c onf irmed and approved.

in the City of South Bend, stating that this Board will receive bids for the con-
structio n of said improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on tho lath, day of March 1919

Hearing had on improvement Resolution No. 597 for Pipe sewer on
Brookfield Street from Ford Street- to a point 110 feet south of the South line Hof
D iv is ion, Street, in the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Npon said hearing proy4bl;y owners appeared and remonstrated against
size of pipe mentioned.--.,iStated to the Board that they wanted a fifteen inch pipe sewer
instead of Twelve inch. The Board deferred action on said resolution until Wednesday
March 5th., 1919 at 7:15 P.M.
Hear ing had on improvement resolution No. 601 for pipe sewer on
Birdsell Street from Fassnacht Avenue to a point 100 ft. south of the southerly; line
of La Porte Avenue, in the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Upon -said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no written remon-
Btranc a was filed. And the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides `'that the
benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to
the estimated cost of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and th lireupon
takes final action on said resolution an originally adopted., and the same is hereby
in all things, ratified, confirmed and approved.

February 1919 and on the nth., day of March 1919 in the South Bend Daily Tribune,
stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvements
up to 10:00 A.M. on the 18th., day of March 1919. The Board reserves "the right to

Hearing give n on Improvement Resolution No. 600 for pipe sewer on
Linden Avenue from Meade Street to a point 65 feet west ofthe west line of Olive Street,
in the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Upon said hearing a remonstrator appeared but no written remonstrance
was filed. And the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides that the bene-
fits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated
cost of the sane, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final
action on said resolution as originally adopted, and the same is hereby in all things,
ratified, confirmed and approved.
Resolved further, that notices be published on the 28th., day of
February 1919 and on the 7ty, day of March 1919 in the South Bend Daily Tribune,
in said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said
improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on the 16th., day of March 1919 The Board reserves the
right to reject any and all bids.

or. Follows Strut from Division Strut to ,Monroe Street and from Sample Street to
Duba it Avenue, in the City of South Bend, Indiana.
The Board decided to defer action dh 'said resolution —Oitil
