41136 Wednesday February 5th..1919. Board met in regular session at 1: 15 P1.14. All Members;;pt csent. Hearing had on resolution for pipe sewer on High Street from Dubail Avenue to Indiana Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 593.. In the City of South Bend, Indiana Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared but no further written remonstrance was filed. And the Board being fully advised in the premises, de- cides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimatgd-�ost of the same, as reported by the .City Civil Engineer and thereupon takes final action on said resolution' as originally-'adopted,,and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Resolved further that notices be published on the llth. day of 'February 1919.'and on the 18th., day of February in a newspaper of gneral circulation, for' the construction of said-' improvements_ up to 10: 00 A.M: on the 25th. , day of February 1919 at 10:00 A.M. ,he Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Hearing had on resolution for pipe sewer on Lindsey Street from Portage Avenue to Allen. Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 594. In the City of South Bend, ° Indiana., - IIpona.said::h.earing remonstrators appeared and written remonstrances were filed. A number of property owners residing on Lindsey Street between Portage Avenue and Leland Avenue appeared and objected to having a sewer put- in as they stated they.were ,already;-connected_.with other sowers. -fir. J. Tomt,,pbjected to having' -.sewer put in in his Black between ;Clashing and Scott Street gas there is a private sewer in this block at the present time. The Board after hearing all interested property owners decided to defer this matter until Saturday,February 8th. ,1919 at 10: GO A.M, as they decided to make a trip and investigate the present condition of sewer on Lindsey Street. Capt. G L. Bunker objected io sewer ebin put in on Lindsey St..between Portage and Leland he stated the reason for his objec ion was that he wa.s.cThe ected private under two houses into the Leland Ave. sewer, following estimated costs were received from the City Engineer read and placed on file. Wilbur E-1755 was presented to the Board with request to excavate in the alley between Mains Street and Lafayette Street in the rear of the South Bend Home Telephone Co., Building for the building of a manhole in order to connect the cables of the Central Union Telephone Company and the Home Telephone Company. Permission was g_xkanted by--th-e---B-o-ard , also permission to close the alley for one week starting from February 10th.,191Q or from the actual commencement of work in said alley. JOSEPH COUNTY, STATE OF INDIANA, that it is desired and deeemed necessary to improve Olive Street -from Lincoln Way West to Washington Avenue and from Division. Street from Sample Street as follows, to -wit: - Said street shall be graded and the roadway thereof shall'be paved; and a so the roadway ofcertain portions of thestreets and alleys which enter or intersect said street shall be graded add paved. ST JOSEPH COUNTY,; STATE OF INDIANA, that it is desired and deemed necessary is improve Ford Street from Olive Street to a point 345 feet east of the east line of Kosc iuszko dtreet as follows, towit:.. Said.street shall be graded and the roadway thereof shall 'be paved; and also the roadway of certain portions of the streets ad alleys which enter or intersect said street shall be graded add paved. The paling- material to be used in leaking said improvement shell be Bituminous Macadam Colzcrete or Brick, and -the foundation for -the -brick pavement shall be rolled gravel 'not -less than"six -(6) :.inch*,q thick; also cement curb shall be constructed along `said street where same is not already construe'ted; storm water inl-fits and conduits shall be constructed" where- necessary;; all manhole -tops and storm water inlets shall be set to the proper grade; cement marginal, curb shall be constructed it all streets and'alleys where necessary; all as is more particularly shown and all in accordance with theplans, profiles, detail drawings and. spec if-icat ions on file in the Office of the Department of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
