MRC GREGOR; The above bid was approved and accepted. and fan to be instilled as soon as possible. It was resolved by the Board that Clause #41 of the General speci- fications for improvement work in the City be changed to read 15% of bond for pavement for five (5) years instead of $.20 per sq. yd. as now reads. Also it was ordered by the Board that a guarantee bond amounting to 15% of all sewer bonds bar three year be given on all sewer contracts in the City. The, -city .engineer filed the. following written report wb :pet,it i for sewer on Huey Street from Lincoln Way West to Wlwood Avenue, January 8,:1919. _ Board of Public Works, South Bend, Indiana, Gentlemen: - In regard to the attached petition for a sewer on Huey Street fram Lincoln Way West to Elwood Avenue, I wish to report that at present the only outlet for a sewer on this street is the sewer on Lincoln Way West. This outlet is only of sufficient depth to permit of a sewer being built as far north as Vassar Avenue on Huey Street If eRtended beyond this point it would not be deep enough to drain the basements of houses fronting on the street. The only way that an outlet can be provided from the north, 'as suggested in the petition, is to build'a, trunk sewer from the river, -to take care. of the territory lying. between Vassar Avenue and Keller Street. If the Board desires to construct a - sewer from Lincoln Way to Vassar Ave. a distance of -one bl*ck,. I will furnish a resolution for that distance. Yours very truly[, FRED RICK J. ANDERSON, City Engineer. petition received ter a pavement on Haney Avenue from Michigan Street to High Street, same read and a resolution ordered prepared for said pavement. Mr: Calif of the France Slag Company met with the Board and explained about stone and slag, The Board instructed T. H.
