HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/17/1918 Board of Public Works Minutese O Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. All members present. Mr. R. R." Smith, Gen'1. Mgr. of the Chicago, South Bend & Northern Indiana Ry. Company appeared before `the Board in regard to the'leas:ing of ground owned by the City for a saw mill. This matter was referred to the Water Dept., to 'be taken up at regular session on Wednesday morning. The Board approved of the order given Miller and Snirke'on December ,6th.,1916 for 1-7 tons of Illinois, coal at $7.00 ,por ton, Mr. David Vaughan representinglks 7. C. Westervelt part owner in the Bissell Plow Company building, appeared before the Board in regard to notice received From the Building Department of this City condemning" said building, which is.oea#�dn ;thQ:^ south._ s ide of the Colfax Avenue bridge, and requested an extens ion of time on said notice. The Board took no action ,in regard to the extension of time but decided to await' the completion of the notice which . would be' on Friday December 20th. ,1918, at which time the Board would sea the c and it ion of the Building and see whether it was possible for Mr. E. C. Westervelt to arrive in the City from Texas It was the sense .of the Board that no extension be given that would involve the City in'any ext#net. Mr. W. D. Teeple Building Commissioner present The Board allowed Geo. Ha'rrop contractor on the Marquette Park sewer system the_ ,sum of .................`. 2, 301.97 Mr. Bruno De Peape, Contractor appeared before the Board in regard to collecting the amount due for extra work put in for the White Construction Company on Dubail Avenue. It was decided by the Board that no action be taken by the City in this matter. In regard to bill of the W. W. Sibley. Co. for installing of tap on the Beyler property on So. Michigan St. submitted in 1917, the Board instructed clekk t#: ratify. W. W. Sibley Company that -the City would pay one half the amount of said Bill. ° y By unanimous consent of the Board, one 42 inch Pease Peerless Blue print machine equipped for 20 Volts A. C. 60 cycle current was ordered - purchased from the C. F. Pease Company of Chicago, Ill for the sum of $900.00 the Board also ordered purchased. -from the same company one Pease Sheet washers machine B.. 64200 for $50.00 less 10% $45.00. Incandescent lamp at Werwinski St. and Brookfield Street with an Are light, the Board decided to go out and investigate same* The Board ordered that the South Bend Home Tel. Company be notified to trench a pole owned by their company abase to the curb in the alley on the south side of Huron Street between Grant Street and Warren Street. President.
