Clerk instructed to write to Universal Concrete Products Co. of Chicago, Ill for prices on light posts. The Beard ordered The South Bend.- Home Telephone Company to remove entirely, the telephone pole art the rear of 326 W. Nava'rre Street, and place the wires aft' same on the pole across the alley, this pole belongs to the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company and has been Ordered to be'reset three to five feet to the south. In regard to request for an electric light at the corner of Portage Avenue and Keller Stre;etY, the Board ordered the .plac ing of a light at this corner held up until further notice. Clerk instructed to notify ,the Northern Indiana Gas & Electric Co.. , to cement hole in sidewalk at Main Street saxthofif Washington Avenue, o The Board ordered the Indiana & Michigan Electric Co. to place an Arc light at the corner of Monroe Street and Meade Street and an 80 C. You are hereby not if ied that the Common Council has . ordered the Board of Public Works to notify you to make the following repairs on your right of way on paved streets, and which you are bound by your franchise to pave and repair, all of which streets are in the City of South Bend, IndIana: - Between your tracks end on either side of rails an Michigan Street Portage Avenue, Chapin Street and on Lincoln Way East to Sample Street. This notice is given pursuant to your agreements contained in. Ordinances Nos. 696 and 871 And upon the fa ilune to repair the same or to ind is ate your readiness to do the same within Ten ( 10) days, the same will .be done by the City and the cost will be recovered from you. Wis ixewski Councilman of the 2nd., Ward in regard to repair to cross walk at corner of Orange Street and Carlisle St. Same referred to the Street Commissioner for repair. Complaint received from Councilman Luther in regard to repair to pavement an Miami Street near Bowman Cemetery. The same referred to the Street Commis inner. Complaint from Councilman Luther in regard to tilling hales in street on Stull Street. Same referred to the Street Commissioner. The Board ordered the Grand Trunk Western Railway System notified to repair their defective ive crossings on Division Street and othar section sof the City, as numerous complaints have been received about the same. Mr. Wm. Artingstall, Project engineer for the United States Housing Corporation appeared' before. the Board. specifications for the construction of sewer, pavements, curbs gutters and sidewalks by the United States Housing Corporation filed by William Art ingstall project engineer on Friday November 8th.,1918 were approved by the Board a copy of same filed with the City Engineer. Dear Sir -A blue print- approved by this Board November 8th.,1918 included the propery on both sidesof `Douglas Street between Dubail Avenue and Oliver Street. No arrange- ments have been made for the construct iob of curbs and sidewalks on either side of Douglas Street between. Oliver Street and Dubail Avenue or on the south side of Dubail Avenue between Carson Avenue and Douglas Street. We would request that the United States Housing Corporation arrange to *install these improvements the same as in other streets in the addition. WHEREAS in a onne et ion with the dealings cif ,the United States Housing Corporation mamy matters have come up relative -to the Building and Plumbing ,Code. 1MREAS the Government has requested that provisions of the code be modified- tn so that their plans will not conflict with the present code. WHEREAS it is the desire o the Mayor and the Beard of Public Works to not discrimminate between the United States Housing Cerporat-ion° and the citizens of the City South Bend, so that a meeting be arranged for Friday November 15th. , 1918 at 7: 30 P.M. at the office of th the Board, there to be present at such meeting, The Mayor, Board of Public Works, Board ©f Public Safety, Building Commissioner,, Plumbing Inspector, City Attorney, City Engineer, a committee of Master Plumbers Association, Committee Building Trades Association, Mr. Wm. Artingstall project engineer U. S. Housing Corporation, and any ether representatives or any organization affected, such meeting to be held tp consider amendments to the present building and plumbing code. Mr. E..H. Miller appeared before the Board and requested that the east end og Calvert Street be repaired. The Street Commissioner instructed to put in the necessary repairs. Price submitted by E W.
