Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. All members present.
The Board instructed the Clerk to notify the Chicago, Lake Shore
and South Bend Railway Company to replace brick in their track st the corner of Orange
Street and College Street this City. '
Complaint received about pole in the driveway of e, garage at 412
W. Marine Street. Pole and 'Wire inspector recommended that this pole be removed at
once. The Beard approved of said roc ommendat ion and instructed -clerk to notify the
South Bend Home Tel. Company to remove said pole.
The following notice was ordered delivered to each office in the

It is the desire of ' the Board of Public Works to keep the expense
of the City Hail Department to the lowest po stble point and one of the large, items
of expense is that of the electric •current. We believe b using care in the bvwning
of electric current the . monthly current. bills may be materially reduced. Some departments
persist in the practice of allowing electric lights to burn during the day time when there
is Buff is lent day -light t o. give the ' necessary light to carry on all work.
Please see that all those hav ing •to ,do with office work conserve
the electric current whenever possible. This may be done not dnly in the use of lights,
but in electric fans and other attachments when current -is used.•
